Junior A football

Bray emmets Vs Hollywood

Following on from their Championship win over Valleymout last Sunday, our Men's Junior A team enjoyed a hard fought victory against Hollywood, on Sunday morning in Old Conna. Final score 2-08 to 0-6.

Team: Tadgh Doran, Sean Pendergast,  James Duggan, Harry Stephenson, Ross Masterson, Mark Lennon, Ishy Mnensa, John Breslin, Gavin Dowling, Andrew Sutton, Jamie Queeney, Declan Snow, Oisin O,hAnnaigh, Peter Quinlan & Jim Doyle.

Donnchadh O'Midheach, Liam Benville, Dylan Terry  and the vastly experienced Tony Denver were introduced in the second half. Training for our men's 2nd team in Tuesday and Thursday at 7.45pm.

Intermediate hurling

Bray Emmets Vs  St Judes

A real good challenge match with St Jude’s on Sunday evening, resulting in a two point win for our lads. Aided by the breeze in the first half we blitzed the Jude’s goal, with Liam Kenny grabbing two, Tom Cash one and Daragh Moloney one, giving us a healthy lead at half time, also Ryan Tynan firing over three points.

The second half was a lot harder and only managed two points against the wind but thankfully it was enough to get the win, David Ebbs came on for Ed Keating who had to go at half time. Paul Barry, luke O’Reilly, Barry Cunningham, Jordan Lee and Michael Walsh all doing great work throughout to game.

We look to have a very strong team leading into the intermediate championship and although we only had the bare bones of a team on the night, we might well be hard to beat. A lot of the boys are busy with exams at this time, and were not able to play this week, but looking at the players we have available to this squad there is a quite an air of expectation in the camp. With the Dublin league break and no match until 23rd June, we would hope to have another challenge game soon.

Under 12 Hurling

Bray Emmets Vs Kevins

Bray Emmets Under 12 hurlers beat Kevins on Saturday. On a warm day, with Pitch 2 in immaculate condition despite the wet weather of the previous week, the spectators were treated to some lovely free flowing hurling.

The first half found both defences on top with scores hard to come by. Art followed by Luan in nets let in only one goal between them. This was mainly thanks to the defensive work of Jamie, Simon, Michael, Conor M, Fionn, John and Oscar H who consistently out hurled their opponents. For Bray their scores came courtesy of two great shots, an unstoppable one from Gavin which resulted in a goal and a wonderful pointed sideline cut from Cian which drew applause from both sets of supporters.

The second half saw Bray gain an upper hand on Kevins. Tim and Art now in midfield eagerly set about ensuring that quality ball was delivered into the forward line. This resulted in goals for Luan, Nathan and Conor D and two super points for Art and Evan following on from wonderful work by the team involving great hassling by Felim and Louie.

Final score: Bray Emmets 4-3, Kevins 1-1.

Team: Art, Cian, Luan, Gavin, Jamie, Simon, John, Michael, Conor M, Fionn, Oscar H, Tim, Nathan, Conor D, Evan, Felim, and Louie.

U14 Football

Bray Emmets Vs Kilmac/Enniskerry

Bray Emmets under fourteen development football team had their fourth game against near neighbours Kilmac /Enniskerry last Wednesday in Old Conna. Kilmac /Enniskerry started the better and went ahead. However with Eoin and Tadhg taking over in midfield, helped with hardworking half forward line of Evan,Gordon and eoin ensured that the full forward line of luke, Alex and Eoin got more into the game. Eoin F in particular was causing all sorts of problems scoring two goals and a point after an excellent save from the Kilmac /Enniskerry goalkeeper.
As the first half wore on, Kilmac /Enniskerry came more into the game but the ever excellent Philip, Rory and Craig in the half back line were keeping most attacks at bay with the full back line of Aaron, Michael and Donal giving great protection to Ben in goal. However Kilmac /Enniskerry finished the half well and it was level at half time.
Bray started the second half better and with Alex and Tadhg playing well at midfield, the ever excellent Evan,Gordon and captain Eoin O were getting on plenty of ball resulting in a number of scores for the two Eoins and luke. Ben with his big and accurate kickouts and the backline of of the immense Michael, Donal and Aaron in the full back line and Philip, Craig and Rory anticipating so much ball in the half back line resulted in Bray playing their best football of the year. Again Kilmac /Enniskerry came back into the game and it needed two well worked scores by the recently arrived Brian and Evan to win the game by the bare minimum.
This was a great performance by everyone on the night. We were in the fortunate position to have quality players to come in and make great contributions. There is a great work ethic within the group and everyone should be proud of their performance.

Team: Ben, Aaron, Michael, Donal, Rory, Philip, Craig, Tadhg, Eoin F, Gordon, Eoin O, Evan, Eoin m, Luke, Alex and Brian.

U8 Camogie

Blitz at Stars of Erin, Glencullen

After the postponement of the blitz in Arklow on Saturday it was great to play three games up in Glencullen against Stars, Roundtowers and Thomas Davies. It was a windy morning, as always, but dry.

The girls played very well from end to end and three wins from three made for a successful morning. Two clean sheets were just as satisfying as the goals scored. A super save from Lili against Stars right at the end kept them out. Ciara marshalled the midfield throughout and Aine did very well in her first blitz for us but standout player of the day was Olivia. She scored her first goal, had two goal assists and stopped two sure goals in defence.

Under 12 Camogie

Bray Emmets Vs Kilmacud

The U12 Camogie team played Kilmacud Crokes, Sat 9th May in a very sporting, free-flowing encounter.  The Stillorgan girls were skilful and capable as ever, so Bray had to work hard to stand shoulder to shoulder. Poppy Cotter brought off some great first-half saves to the delight of her defensive stalwarts Pearl O’Connor and Fionnuala Crowley. A highlight of the opening period was a great Ellen O’Doherty goal, assisted in no small way by Erica Brierton and the tenacious Áine Farrell.

In the second-half, Bray continued to beaver away, Mary Anne Aherne and Kaleigh Broderick giving their last gasp for the cause.  Kilmacud however had other ideas and were the worthy winners at the end of a thoroughly enjoyable joust.
