Club Notes 3rd February

Monday, February 3, 2014

There was no Match 4 winner of the Club Lotto on Friday, 31st January when the numbers drawn were 14, 7, 3 and 2 so next week, the jackpot goes up to €6,400. If you’re not already signed up please do so as not only are you in with a chance to win a serious Jackpot but you are also helping support your local club. It is €2 per week but goes a long way towards running all the facilities that we have. Brian Lambe was the name drawn in the Lucky Dip and will receive €25. Further details are available at

Subscriptions alone do not cover the full costs of running our club. We rely on Members, Sponsors and Supporters engaging in fundraising to make up the difference. Well here is a brief synopsis of where the money goes:

·      Playing equipment/attire (Jerseys, Footballs, Sliothers, Nets)

·      Affiliation Fees to National Governing bodies

·      Competition Entry Fees

·      Player & Officials Injury Scheme

·      Public & Property Liability Insurance

·      Council Charges

·      Building Repairs and Maintenance of Pitch’s

·      Professional Services

·      Utility Bills

·      Referees Fees

·      Team Travel & Refreshments

·      Medals and Trophies (lots hopefully)

Unfortunately as a result of the weather the Academy did not go ahead.  Weather permitting we will be back this Saturday. Please make sure that the players wear warm clothing on the cold mornings.  As always there will be tea and coffee available in the club shop.

GAA National Club Draw
A new initiative has been started at Croke Park where they are running a National Club Draw.  This is an ideal opportunity for the club to raise some much needed funds to cover the running of the club.  The great thing about this draw is that Croke Park are providing 10 fabulous prizes.  Instead of the club members pockets being tapped in to it is a chance for members to sell tickets outside the club at home or work.  All money raised by tickets sold by Bray Emmets stays in the Club.  We would ask all members to take a book or two.  More information on the prizes is attached in document.  For tickets contact Dermot O’Brien or Dave Barry.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Camogie?  If yes well why not call over to our pitches at Old Conna and give it a go.  We are back training on Monday and Wednesday evenings, if interested in taking part contact Paul at 086 3934273.  New Members always welcome!
