Team Management

Tuesday, December 10, 2013

The club Management has initiated the development of a 3-5 year plans for Hurling, Football and

Ladies Football. This work is ongoing. One of the early outcomes from this process is the need to

widen the coaching and management skills within the club. It has accordingly been decided that

wherever possible the managers of the adult teams will be selected from within the club. While this

may not always be possible, we are in the position where well-qualified internal club members have

agreed to take on the management of the Senior Hurling and Senior Football teams.

The new manager of the Football team is John Walsh, while John Henderson takes over the Hurling.

Last year’s senior football manager, Jack Sheedy, has taken up the post of Manager of the Longford

Senior Football team. We thank Jack for his efforts during the year and wish him well in his new post.

We were delighted to have had Shane OBrien, as coach to the senior hurling team in 2012 and

manager this year. The club would like to thank Shane and his very professional management team

for the wonderful work that they carried out. The team made major progress under his direction

and brought great joy to all club members in bringing Bray Emmets to the County Final for the

first time in 61 years. In a tightly fought match, Glenealy came through in the end by 3 points thus

demonstrating the progress made by Bray in the past few years. We sincerely wish Shane the very

best of luck in the future.
