Club Notes 24th June

Monday, June 24, 2013

There was no Match 4 winner of the Club Lotto on Friday, 21st June when the numbers drawn were 3, 12, 21 and 22 so next week, the jackpot goes up to €3,200, which would go a long way to the holiday fund! Mary Kane was the name drawn in the Lucky Dip and will receive €25. As always, we encourage members to register to play online or to promote the Lotto to others. Further details are available at

Armagh V Wicklow
After their cruel defeat to Meath in the Leinster Championship, Wicklow must now travel to Armagh in the All-Ireland Qualifier series to face a very strong home side still smarting from their unexpected defeat to Cavan. The game will take place in the Athletic Grounds at 3.00 p.m. on Sunday, 30th June. Ticket prices vary from €10 to €15 and any Club members requiring a ticket should contact our Club Secretary, Anne Healy (087-2556193) before Tuesday, 25th June.

Minor Hurling Championship
Champions Bray Emmets begin the defence of their County Hurling Championship title when they travel to Arklow to play Arklow Rock Parnells at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 26th June. The format of this championship this year sees it run in conjunction with the football competition so our players are facing into a few very busy weeks. Nonetheless, we wish them all the best and hope that they can repeat their success of 2012.

Ladies Senior Football
The Senior Ladies Football team will get their 2013 championship campaign underway on Sunday, 14th July. Bray Emmets have been drawn in a tough group featuring Tinahely, Valleymount and Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney with the top two progressing to the semi-final stage. Before this competition begins, the County Ladies team will play London at Páirc Emmet Bhré in the Leinster Intermediate Championship and all members are encouraged to attend and cheer on Club representative Katie O’Donovan and her team mates in this important tie. This game will take place at 2.00 p.m. on Saturday, 29th June.

The Club is delighted to announce that it has just launched its own Twitter profile, @BrayEmmets. For those of you who want the latest news and results from the Club in 140 characters, please follow us and recommend us to your friends!

Parents are reminded that the Academy will finish up for the summer on Saturday, 29th June. This last session will run for the normal times of 10.30 – 12.00 but afterwards, we will be marking the occasion and celebrating the progress made over the year.
U-12 Hurling and Football
More holiday updates. The U-12 group will be taking a six week break from Tuesday and Saturday training sessions but will continue to play Monday night Wicklow games. Players and parents will receive Teamer details about these matches. The 2002 group return to the playing field in football on Saturday, 31st August, while U-12 hurling resumes on Saturday, 14th September. As a result, the 2001/2002 players will return to training on Saturday, 24th August. We hope that players enjoy the summer break!
