Mum and Me/Dad and Me

Saturday, November 10, 2012

The Dad and Me/Mum and Me Hurling/Camogie Programme is an initiative which is starting in November as a pilot scheme by the Bray Emmets Academy. The initiative consists of a 4 week programme whereby the mother or father will accompany her daughter or son to their usual training session and take part. The Programme will take place at 10.15am on Saturday mornings on the 3G in Emmet Park beside the Academy training. Helmets and hurls will be provided on the morning for parents. A tutor is appointed to look after the parents whilst the children go with their usual coach.

For the first 20 minutes of the session parents will learn a new skill of the game and practice it before heading out to join their sons and daughters to pass on this knowledge and skill for the next 20 minutes. (These skills will not be difficult and very easy to pick up).  This is an opportunity for dads and mums to learn the basic skills of Hurling/ Camogie and coaching as well as having great fun with their son or daughter. There is also a social aspect whereby you will get to know the other parents on the team. Bray Emmets are running this programme for our Academy, Under 8 Camogie and Hurling groups. Conor Britton will be the tutor on the course and the programme will run for 4 weeks commencing 10th November 2012.

If you are interested in taking part or if you require any further information, you can contact Paul Sweeney on 086 3934273.There are only a few spaces on this course and booking is recommended.

Mum and Me Camogie continues on Monday evenings 7.30pm. All newcomers are always welcome.
