Hard Luck, Wicklow Senior Footballers

Monday, June 2, 2008

The Emmett's  would like to say hard luck to Micko, his backroom team and players on their loss to Laois on Saturday.  But this is not the usual hard luck story, where we acccept being the gallant losers and come away saying "if only".  After a poor first half, when Wicklow were just hanging on to the coat tails of Laois, what a transformation in the second half.  That second half was pure passion and some tremendous skill.  Wicklow are now playing at real Leinster championship contender level, and we in the Emmett's hope that the management team and players stay together and achieve that goal of a Leinster championship. It was also great to see the tremendous support that the team had in Carlow which shows that this team has now got the county behind them.  What a pity that we are not in the qualifiers, but a second Tommy Murphy cup would do nicely.  Thanks to all concerned with this team.
