| Congratulations to the U16 Camogie County Champions | 20 September, 2017 |
Bray Emmets U16 Camogie Team met Donard the Glen in the A County Final in Ballinakill last Wednesday night . We expected this to be a tense affair as we had met Donard in the League on their home ground and we had drawn with them after a mighty battle on that occasion.
Sure, enough, Bray got off to a good start and twenty minutes in we were 1 goal and 4 points up while Donard had not put a score on the board yet at that point. They had not gone away of course and within a short few minutes they had scored two goals and a point.
So, at the break it was a drawn game. Strong words were said at half time and all returned with renewed vigour after the interval. The teams were really so evenly matched but Bray may have had more firepower on the side line in terms of substitutes available.
After a hard fought second half Bray emerged as the winners with a final score of 2 goals 5 points to 2 goals 2 points. I would have to name the whole team and the substitutes if I was to name check players. Credit must go to all the girls and in particular to the Under 14s without whom we could not have made it to the Final. Many thanks also to Orlagh O Kane who was front and central at training and attended all the U16 matches during the year. Unfortunately , she could not be at the Final but she was most definitely with us in spirit.

Emmet Bhré 2-8 - Ballyboden 1-2.
The U16 Camogie team had a very good league game against Ballyboden, Sat 29 April. Ballyboden had a handful of genuinely dominant players, yet it was Bray’s overall work-rate, fearlessly hooking, blocking and hunger for the 50/50 balls that was the difference when the final whistle sounded. While it was a huge team effort, very distinguished displays came from Ciara Slattery, Laura Butler, Laura McGarry and Emma Doyle. Bhí Tomás agus Anne iontach bródúil as an bhfoireann ar fad.

| Bray Emmets take U16 Camogie title | 20 October, 2012 |
On Saturday 20th October we played the U16 B
Championship Final v Ballinacor in the Aughrim Community
Grounds. The game got off to a great start with chances at
both ends.We were first to score with a brilliant catch and strike
on the run by Caoimhe Lohan to hit the back of the net.It was
Ballinacors turn to score next when they got a goal after they put
pressure on our goal.We replied with a point from Caoimhe again
only to be hit by a goal and a point from Ballinacor when really we
were starting to play well. Kellie and Roisin in midfield were
flying,Lauren was starting to get to grips at centreback and also
scored an excellant point.Up front Aisling ,Fiona and Clare were
working hard,Rachel was winning ball and running directly at the
heart of the Ballinacor defence but at half time we went in 2pts
down.
At the start of the second half,we introduced 3 subs Niamh(blood
sub for Clare),Shannon and Nicola came on for Amy, Orlaith and
Clare who played very well during the first half. Our first score of
the second half came when Niamh playing at full forward knocked
over a point, she quickly followed this up with her now customary
goal.We were awarded a 65 after a lot of pressure on the Ballinacor
goal.Lauren stepped up to take the 65 and launched a thunderbolt
that finished in the back of the Ballinacor net.We were now on top
all over the field winning the breaking ball, closing down the space
and then to capitalise up popped Caoimhe again to score another
goal.We introduced another 3 subs.Aoife,Vicky and Kellie and they
played there part with Aoife who always seems in the right place
getting us another goal.Ballinacor never scored in the second half
and this was down to our defence of Sophie with her saves and great
puck outs,Casey,Amy,Shannon,Caoimhe,Lauren and Caitlin.Kellie and
Roisin covered every blade of grass on the pitch ,Nicola,Sarah who
was everywhere winning the ball Aisling,Fiona,Niamh and
Rachel,Vicky,Meave and Kellie. We finished the game winners on a
score of 5.3:2.1.Kellie Gilbert our captain accepted the trophy but
in truth we had captains all over the field.
In this match, our first half was full of nerves but in the
second half we settled down to play some great Camogie which is
what we have been doing over the last few weeks.Well done
girls and thank you for the commitment you have shown over the last
year to training and games.
