Emmet Bhré 4-8, AGB Arklow 0-6.
The U14 Girls Football team played Arklow Geraldines Tuesday 24 May. This fixture is often a very tough one for Bray and one in which we often come out second best. Tuesday evening however began at a different pitch, with a determination to redress the balance. From the back, players like Captain Jordan O’Brien, Emily Cahill, Amy Healy did great work setting up team belief and creating scoring opportunities. Bray lead at the break.
In the second-half, Brian O’Keeffe’s passionate team talk had the immediate incendiary effect. Scores from Orla Jackson, Sarah Lambe and Amy Butler capped a brilliant evening and a sweet victory.

The game was played in 3 twenty minute periods which added to the overall scores and energy of proceedings. Emmet Bhré 3-9, Éire Óg Greystones 2-4.
The Under 14 girls Football team were out against near neighbours Éire Óg, Thursday 9th April. The team settled quickly with Shauna Ryan and Caoimhe Hardiman finding their target early. Emily Deveney, Róisín Murphy and Laura McGarry worked invaluably in the engine-room allowing Bray the briefest of halftime leads.
In the second-half, Alannah Henry and Sasha Ní Laoghaire were worthy of particular mention. Up front, the heavy artillery were rolling out their fire-power. Sophie Blennerhasset a player apart, and a fantastic Alice O’Doherty goal were among the spectator delights, while intelligent link play involved Orla O’Keeffe and Emma Doyle. The U14 boys Football team played a pre-Féile competition in Gorey on Sat 14th March. This was a good opportunity to see the players in their first contest of the year. In the first game we faced a very strong St Nicholas outfit. Despite the challenge, players like Mark Cullen in particular, David Maloney and Rory Whelan rolled up their sleeves and took the game to them. In the second game, Bray and Naomh Éanna (Gorey) were a lot more evenly matched. Michael McCarthy showed his courage, Eoin Fitzsimons his ability to field and Donal Spaine his willingness to track back. Ladies Under 14 Girls Football | 11 October, 2014 |
Bray Emmets 9-09 Blessington 3-02The U14 Ladies played Blessington on Saturday in the A Shield Final. This was our second year to reach the A Shield Final having won last year against Cumann na Mara. The venue this year was Roundwood and we were lucky to get a beautiful October day for our match. The girls had trained well but we were very aware that Blessington would not be easily overcome. From the start the girls went hard at it and it was not long before Bray had a goal and a point on the score board. The Blessington girls were not for letting us off too easily though and they replied with a very well taken goal.Tit for tat followed and at half time it was 4 goals 4 points to Bray v 3 goals and 1 point to Blessington. A rousing team talk took place at half time and suffice to say that the Bray girls went out and to say that they took no prisoners would be putting it mildly. How do you pick out girls when all played so hard? Well, Eve Murphy was responsible for 5 goals and a few points. I reckon that if Martin O Neill had been in An Tochar she would have been brought to the Aviva straight away! Jane Butler was immense as was the whole half back line including Alice Fitzgerald and Alannah Barry. Molly Fitzgerald and Leah Carroll ran their hearts out in midfield and never looked like they would stop! Emily Devenney was unlucky to get a hand injury but prior to that did a great job in the full back line and came back on to play in the forwards and scored 2 goals. The half forward line of Eimear Martin , Shauna Ryan and the afore mentioned Eve Murphy were totally dangerous. Eleanor Carroll Hayes and Laura Butler did plenty of damage in the full forward line ensuring a constant supply of ball to Rachel Rice in the centre and managing a couple of scores themselves as well.I know this is a lengthy report but truth to tell I could actually mention every single player.Team; Nicole Ryan-Goalie, Kerri Keane, Grace Browne Captain, Emily Devenney, Alannah Barry, Jane Butler, Alice Fitzgerald, Leah Carroll, Mollly Fitzgerald, Shauna Ryan, Eimear Martin, Eve Murphy, Eleanor Carroll Hayes, Laura Butler, Rachel Rice, Brona Murphy, Caoimhe Hardiman, Eva Cullen, Alannah Henry, Aine Clarke, Shauna O Kelly, Lauren Healy.... |

The U 14 Ladies Football team played St Patricks from Donabate in the Dublin League in Phairc Emmet Bhré on Wed 9th April. The Visitors played great from the very start and it took Bray a bit of time to get going but once they did their teamwork and hard work not to mention skill won over the opposition. This was a great game of football and the girls should be very proud of their very impressive performance. Both sets of mentors were very happy with their teams performance in a good clean fast flowing game of football.
The score line of 8:4 to 4:4 did not reflect the competitive nature of the game. Well done girls!... |

Match Report: U-14 Girls Football | 5 October, 2013 |
On Saturday, 5th October, the U-14 Ladies Football Shield Final between Bray Emmets and Cumann na Mara was played on a lovely sunny morning in Greystones. The girls got off to a very good start and maintained this pace for the entire game. After a tough year in Division 1 of the Wicklow League, the team and their mentors were delighted to have reached the Shield Final. Throughout the year, the girls worked on skills, teamwork and self-belief and they certainly brought it all together on the day with every individual playing to their full capacity. The defence played exceptionally well, preventing Cumann na Mara from scoring until almost the final minute of the game. The midfield and forwards worked very well together to achieve the all-important scores. It would be impossible to single any player out for individual praise as ultimately it was the teamwork, energy and enthusiasm of the players that earned the victory. The mentors and parents are very proud of all the girls. The final score of Bray Emmets 3-5 Cumann na Mara 0-1 is testament to the great effort and hard work of every single member of the team.

U14 Girls win Championship final | 23 October, 2011 |
Bray U14 Girls played the Final of the A Championship against St
Patrick's in Laragh on Sunday afternoon 23rd Oct 2011.
This was an excellent game played in great spirit and commitment by
both teams despite the heavy rain and slippery underfoot
conditions.
St. Patrick's had the better start whilst playing with the
benefit of the elements and dominated possession but tenacious
defending from Bray ensured that that scores were kept to a
minimum.
St. Patrick's were good value for their half time lead of 1g
-3pts to 0g - 1pt. Due to the inclement weather conditions this
game always looked as if it would be decided by who took their
scoring chances best and who benefited from the lucky breaks.
An outstanding display from goalkeeper Sophie Connolly including
saving a penalty at a key time early in the second half inspired
her team mates to greater efforts. Bray who lined out with dynamic
injured trio of Shauna Douglas, Ruby Stewart and Emma Groves were
re-energized in the second half and finished strongly. St Pat's
again enjoyed a period of dominance early in the second half and
were leading up until the final ten minutes but were unable get
enough sores to close out the game. A brilliant goal from Roisin
Quigley who soloed through the heart of the Pat's defence and
rattled the net with an unstoppable shot rallied Bray who upped
their work rate and enjoyed a purple patch where their they added
three more goals. Ace sharpshooters Juliette Fortune (2g) and
Caoimhe Loahan (1g 2pt) once again came to the fore and showed
their predatory instincts in front of goal.
This was a real team effort and underlines the efforts put in by
these girls over the past number of years.
Heroic Bray captain Jessica Conway was delighted to accept the
trophy on behalf or her team was magnanimous in her praise of the
display given by the St Pat's girls who battled bravely until the
final whistle made it a really exciting and tense game.

Baltinglass 2-7 Bray Emmett's 7-6
Bray U14 Girls travelled to Blessington for championship semi
final on Sat 8 th Oct 2011 and started the game very strongly
enjoying a lot of possession which enabled them to build a 7 point
lead by half time.
Baltinglass came back strongly in the second half and quickly
reduced the deficit to 1 point.
However the Bray girls retained their composure and with some
astute positional switches they finished strongly in the last 15
min for a deserved win.
It was great to see all the parents come along and support the
girls on Saturday.
We are looking forward to the final on Sun 23rd Oct against St
Patrick's with the time and venue to be confirmed.

Carnew | 18 October, 2009 |
Bray 2 - 10
Carnew 2 - 2
Our U14 girls travelled to Laragh on Sunday for their Shield
Final against Carnew. Carnew scored first with a goal, which
unsettled us until Sinead Kelly replied with a cracker of a
gold. Bray passed the ball very well on we notched up a few
points from Siofra Heffernan and Orla Whelan. There was only
4 points in it at half time and still all to play for. Carnew
started the second half well, but Bray battled and Orla Whelan and
Aoife Keddy put over a few more points to pull away from
Carnew,
Laura McCarthy our goalkeeper made brilliant saves to keep
Carnew at bay. Orla Whelan then slotted home our
2ndgoal, and we were on our way to winning the
Shield. Well Done Bray.

St. Nicholas | 13 July, 2009 |
Bray Emmets 3-7 V St. Nicholas 0-3
The match started after a minute's silence in memory of the late
father of St Nicholas' manager Nessa Harney. For the first quarter
it was a really tight game with just two scores, Aoife O'Donovan's
goal giving Bray the advantage over St Nicholas' point, but then
Bray pulled ahead while the visitors' attacks broke down on the
Bray back line with Kate O'Connor, Tara Brady and Lauren Barry
reducing shooting opportunities while Laura McCarthy kept the ball
out of the net with a couple of fine saves.
The Bray half-backs, Aoife Sherlock, Danika Goulding and Erin
Horan were once again highly effective at getting the ball forward
quickly, whilst the midfield partnership was outstanding: Zoe
Mulvaney coolly handled her county-level opponent and Aoife
O'Donovan ranging from deep in the rear to the full forward line as
opportunities arose. She added a point to her early goal, a tally
equalled by Orlaith Whelan and Siofra Heffernan, while Kathy
Waters, Sinead Kelly and Aoife Keady all contributed points to the
Bray scoreline.

Coolkenno | 22 June, 2009 |
Bray Emmets 6-6 Vs Coolkenno 5-8
In this hugely entertaining game, Bray had the better of the
first half, leading 3-4 to 1-3 at the break thanks to goals from
Kathy Waters, Sinead Kelly and Orlaith Whelan. Coolkenno weren't
going to lie down in front of a home crowd though; and within the
first minutes of the 2nd half had levelled
things.
The rest of the game was enthralling as each side alternately
gained and lost the lead. For Bray, Aoife O'Donovan and Zoe
Mulvaney had a brilliant game in midfield, providing great service
to the forwards. Siofra Heffernan scored a goal and a brace of
points, under-12's Sophie Connolly took three fine points whilst
Sinead Kelly followed the previous week's hat-trick of goals with
another, scoring 3-1. Coolkenno meanwhile were giving as good as
they got and things were so tight at the end of the game that there
was considerable confusion about the final score. In the end,
referee gave it to Bray by a point, and on the game as a whole it
was a well-deserved win for the Emmets girls.

Clara | 15 June, 2009 |
Bray Emmets 8-17 V Clara 3-3
Bray got off to a bad start when Clara scored a 1st minute goal,
but for the most part the action was in the Clara half of the
pitch. At half time, Bray led 3-11 to 2-2, and the second half
became increasingly one-sided as the visitors tired and their
counter-attacks were broken up at the Bray half-back line.
It was a great team performance from Bray. The back line
smothered most Clara attacks. Danika Goulding and (especially) Erin
Horan proved very effective at getting the ball forward, providing
service to the forwards and picking up points themselves. Aoife
O'Donovan and Zoe Mulvaney dominated midfield, while the forwards
racked up the scores: reliable sharpshooters Orlaith Whelan (1-4)
and Siofra Heffernan (2-4) both did extremely well, but Sinead
Kelly showed she could compete with them with a massive 3-3. Cliona
Horgan and newcomer Saoirse Hetherington came close on several
occasions and were unlucky not to get their names on the
scoresheet.
Emmets Team:

St Pats | 4 May, 2009 |
Bray led for the whole of a low-scoring first half thanks to a
goal and a point from Siofra Heffernan supplemented by an Orlaith
Whelan point. St. Pats were just behind with 1-1, and could have
held the lead, were it not for some excellent goalkeeping by Laura
McCarthy. The Bray midfielders, Zoe Mulvaney and Aoife O'Donovan,
worked extremely hard and Aoife in particular put in a great
performance.
The tempo increased greatly in the second half. Siofra Heffernan
increased her tally by two more points, Beth Cummins put her name
on the score sheet with a short range goal while Danika Goulding
found the back of the net from longer range, having taken the ball
forward from the half-back line.
Unfortunately, St. Pats were putting on scores too to keep in
touch, and two goals in the last 5 minutes gave them the win.

Championship V Roundwood | 20 October, 2008 |
Bray opened well with an unanswered goal and two points all from
Siofra Heffernan, but Roundwood fought back to stay in touch and
managed to exploit the space afforded by a 10 a side game on a
full-size pitch to grab two goals late in the first half to
go in at the break with their noses just in front, 2-7 to 2-6.
Bray came out fighting after half-time, however, and racked up
the scores. Sorcha Crimmins was particularly lethal, scoring three
goals and two points and Siofra Heffernan added to her tally.
Orlaith Whelan put the ball in the net after a long dribbling run
that would have pleased Giovanni Trappatoni, whilst Danika Goulding
soloed most of the pitch from a kick-out to put the ball past the
Roundwood goalkeeper. Jennifer Ryan, falling back to a more
defensive role, played a leading part in blocking the Roundwood
counter-attacks while Emily Richardson was outstanding in
midfield.

Castleknock | 1 September, 2008 |
Castleknock 8-4 V Bray Emmets 4-3
In their first outing since the summer break, Bray Emmets under
14 girls were put under early pressure in this 13-a-side game as
the hosts scored 6-1 in the first half. Bray's sole score of the
half was a goal from Orlaith Whelan as a result of an excellent
pass from Cathy Waters. Castleknock could even have scored more had
it not been for some good saves from Naoise Concannon.
Bray began to find their rhythm in the second half, as a
reorganisation of positions helped to settle the team. An early
goal, again from Orlaith Whelan, gave the team some confidence and
although Castleknock soon countered the half was a much more lively
affair. Further Bray scores came in the shape of a goal and two
points from Siofra Heffernan (1-2), whilst girl of the match Danika
Goulding, playing in a more forward role than the first half, took
a goal and a point herself.
Although Castleknock's lead was dented, they had plenty of fresh
legs (unfortunately Bray were playing without substitutes) and
managed to respond at a quick enough rate to keep their heads
comfortably in front, to win 8-4 to 4-3.
Emmets Team: 1 Naoise Concannon, 2 Lauren Barry, 3 Laura

The u14 girls' football team had their first game of the season
on Sunday in Old Conna. In a high scoring challenge match against
St Jude's from Dublin both teams displayed some fine football
skills. Deirdre O'Rourke, Caoimhe Martin and Caoimhe Conroy made
their debut with Bray Emmets and acquitted themselves extremely
well.
Thanks to all the parents and supporters who turned out and
helped with pitch set up etc. While St Jude's came out the winners
in the end it was a very enjoyable match. The girls start their
league with their first match in Lucan on Sunday. It was great to
see the number of girls turning up and the effort they put in.
