Bray Emmets team and their supporters had a long journey down to
Dunlavin for an early start to challenge Baltinglass for the
Wicklow Shield.
Bray started well and were first on score board with a cracking
goal from Eve Murphy. The two teams were very evenly matched
and the game was a hard fought competition and the weather
conditions did not help. Eleanor Carroll in goals made an
excellent save but collided with a player forcing
a substitution. By half time Bray were ahead by a score of 1
goal 2 points to 1 goal. Baltinglass started the second half
with a goal to put them ahead for the first time in the match.
The Bray girls dug deep with each and every one of the players
raising their game to 110% and with the help of the
supporters and coaches cheering them on from the side line
converted their chances with two more points. In the last
minute of the game Nicole Ryan (Goalie) saved Baltinglass last
chance leaving Bray winning with a score line of 1 goal 4
points to 2 goals and three voiceless coaches. Well done to all
the players who participated in all the games leading the team
to this win.
