Girls U12 C Championship Final

Bray Emmets 4-2 St Nicholas 3-8

A super game of football that ebbed and flowed between two well matched teams. Bray got the early lead when player of the match, Rachel Cullen goaled from distance. The Bray girls really had to defend strongly for the remainder of the first half as St Nicholas dominated before eventually breaking through in the last 10 minutes of the first half to take a half-time lead by 2-3 to 1-0.

Bray started the second half strongly. Another goal from Rachel Cullen followed by a great shot to the St Nicholas net by Eve Cunnane saw the teams level shortly after half time. It was real end-to-end stuff at this stage but then the St Nicholas girls got on top and despite some really strong defending from the Bray girls, St Nicholas scored 5 points without reply. The Bray girls didn't give up and 2 points from Cullen got them back in the game before a St Nicholas goal gave them a 6 point lead with only minutes remaining. Again Rachel Cullen came to the Bray girls rescue with a cracking goal but despite a desperate last gasp efforts from Bray, some great defending from St Nicholas saw them home by 3 points. A great team effort from all the Bray girls who did the club proud with their efforts.
