U12 Girls welcome Oliver Plunketts | 3 March, 2013 |
On Sunday, 3rd March the Ladies Under-12 Football team
welcomed Oliver Plunketts to Old Conna for their first Dublin
League match. The Bray team had some fresh new faces in their
starting line-up as well as some of the regular 2001 girls who have
been with the Club since starting with the Academy. The game
started evenly with both teams contesting for the first score but
Oliver Plunketts settled in to a good run of play and got the first
three scores of game. At times, Bray were under severe pressure and
only the great defensive work of Eleanor Carroll Hayes and Lauren
Healy stopped Oliver Plunketts from scoring again in the first
half. Bray started to string some great passages of play through
Alice Fitzgerald and Shauna Ryan which saw Eve Murphy having a
number of shots going unluckily wide. Bray's hard work eventually
paid off just before half-time with debutant Sasha Ni Laoghaire
scoring a goal which meant the teams went in level at the
break.
The early stages of the second half saw Oliver Plunketts push
Emmets and their hard work paid off with a couple of quick scores.
At this point, they looked the likely winners but the Bray girls
came back into the game with Alice Fitzgerald and Emily Deveney
showing their strength and speed in midfield, driving the team
forward. Their team mates followed suit with Eve Murphy recording
and incredible four goals and two points some of which any
footballer would be proud of. Laura McGarry also joined in the
scoring, registering her first goal. Well done to all the girls on
both teams and a special thank you to all the Mum's and Dad's for
supporting the girls. Final Score: Bray Emmets 6-2 Oliver
Plunketts 2-8.

U12 Girls footballers take Wicklow Shield | 30 September, 2012 |
Bray Emmets team and their supporters had a long journey down to
Dunlavin for an early start to challenge Baltinglass for the
Wicklow Shield.
Bray started well and were first on score board with a cracking
goal fromEve Murphy. The two teams were very evenly matched
and the game was a hardfought competition and the weather
conditions did not help. Eleanor Carrollin goals made an
excellent save but collided with a player forcing
asubstitution. By half time Bray were ahead by a score of 1
goal 2 points to1 goal. Baltinglass started the second half
with a goal to put them ahead for thefirst time in the match.
The Bray girls dug deep with each and every one ofthe players
raising their game to 110% and with the help of the
supportersand coaches cheering them on from the side line
converted their chanceswith two more points. In the last

Bray Emmets u12 girls in Croke Park | 28 April, 2012 |
Yet another busy weekend for the u12 ladies football team! We
had the honour of being asked to play in Croke Park on Saturday
28th April during the half time break in the Wicklow v Fermanagh
Division 4 final. This was a really exciting event for the girls
most of whom had not played in Croke Park previously. We first went
to the dressing rooms to get togged out and then watched the first
half of the senior football match. We were then escorted down into
the bowels of Croke Park and got to run out through the tunnel on
to the pitch! A very good but short exhibition match ensued. All of
the girls acquitted themselves well and played with confidence and
style. Thanks to all the parents and siblings who came along to
support the girls!!
A big thank you to their mentors Anne Carroll and Paul Ryan for
seamlessly making sure everything went according to plan on the
day.
The team of u12 footballers that played at Croke Park during the
Wicklow v Fermanagh game as follows; Grace Browne, Laura Butler,
Ailbhe Byrne, Leah Carroll, Eleanor Carroll Hayes, Emily Deveney,

Busy week for U12 ladies | 15 April, 2012 |
Sunday 15th April the U12 Ladies met Scoil Ui Chonaill on
Clontarf Rd in the Dublin League. This was a very competitive game
with both sides putting in a very good effort. The Bray girls were
ahead at half time but Scoil Ui Chonaill were not going to make it
easy for us and they pulled ahead in the second half. However, the
girls didn't give up and they gradually fought their way back to
gain a draw. Deserving of particular mention were Grace Browne and
Kerrie Keane in the backs, and Eleanor Carroll Hayes at half back.
Emily Deveney and the Butler sisters- Jane and Laura- were a highly
energetic trio and made a great contribution. Nicole Ryan had a
good game as Goalie and her long kick out certainly helped us stay
in the game. Lauren Healy also worked hard and participated well
for the team. The final score was 3 goals and 5 points to 4 goals
and 2 points.
Our team today consisted of Eve Cunnane, Emily Deveney,
Emer Martin, Eleanor Carroll Hayes, Jane Butler, Laura Butler,
Shauna Ryan, Ailbhe Byrne, Kerrie Keane, Sadhbh Kavanagh, Lauren

U12 girls travel to Na Dubhghall | 31 March, 2012 |
Bray Emmets U12 girls travelled out to the north side to play
their third Dublin league match against Na Dubhghall. Bray started
slowly giving away a penalty in the first few minutes and allowing
Na Dubhgall first on the score board with a goal. Bray took control
of the game with a strong performance from all players showing
excellent skill and team spirit. Bray's mid field put in a
momentous drive with Laura & Jane Butler tackling &
intercepting and Alice & Molly Fitzgerald sending balls
forwards where Eve Murphy started the scoring with 3 quick points
and caused problems for the defenders winning two penalties and
putting 2 goals on Brays score. In the second half Bray
continued with the same determination & exceptional play. Na
Dubhgall pushed hard right until the final whistle but Bray proved
too strong on the day with a fantastic team effort from all of the
players making the difference. Well done to Bray Emmets, final
score of 3-7 to 2-1.

U12 V Trinity Gaels | 25 March, 2012 |
In the beautiful sunshine today the U12 girls took on their
latest test and gave a truly excellent account of themselves. We
travelled over to Drumnigh Rd near Portmarnock, the home of Trinity
Gaels. Fourteen girls turned out and all played a vital role in the
battle that ensued. Trinity Gaels fielded twelve girls which gave
us the luxury of two subs, and the chance to put on fresh legs when
necessary. Bray took the first couple of scores but Trinity Gaels
were not slow about getting a few back and the first half flew by
with tit for tat scores leaving the two sides level at half
time.
Commencing the second half the Gaels notched up a few scores
quite quickly. However, our girls never gave up and they worked
really hard to catch up finally winning a draw.
I would find it hard to single out anybody today and it must be
said that the whole team worked so hard together as a unit. Key
contributors were Eleanor Carroll Hayes in goals, Grace Browne in
defence and later mid field, Emily Devenney and Eve Cunnane
partnering excellently in mid field and Eimear Martin shone in the
forward line. The work rate and skill shown by the Butler sisters,
Jane and Laura was highly impressive. Final score was 3 goals and 8
points each. Heart attack territory for the mentors!!Well done
to all the girls and keep up the good work!! The team today
consisted of Eve Cunnane, Eimear Martin, Cara Meaney, Grace Browne,
Laura Cahill, Eleanor Carroll Hayes, Eve Murphy, Nicole Ryan,
Sadhbh Kavanagh, Kerrie Keane, Emily Devenney, Jane Butler, Laura

U12 Girls kick start Dublin league | 24 March, 2012 |
The U12 Girls kick started their first Dublin league football
match against Ballyboden St Enda at Pairc Ni Mhurchu. Both teams
gave an excellent display of skill & determination with the
exceptional play from Emily Deveney who constantly won the battle
of midfield with Eve Cunnane and sent a continuous supply of balls
to the forwards. With that drive from midfield Bray were first on
the score board with a hat trick of goals from Shauna Ryan at full
forward and from there Bray took a commanding lead with some great
scores from Eimear Martin, Jane Butler, Eve Cunnane & Ailbhe
Byrne. Ballyboden came back at Bray with a number of good chances
of scoring but with the excellent defending from Grace Browne,
Alice Fitzgerald, Meave O'Doherty and Eleanor Carroll Hayes as
goalkeeper made all the difference to the score line. Well done to
Bray Emmets, recording the first Dublin league win with a final
score of 9-9 to 1-3. Team: Eve Cunnane, Lauren Healy, Shauna Ryan,
Jane Butler, Alice Fitzgerald, Ailbhe Byrne, Allie Byrne, Emily

Girls U12 C Championship Final | 15 October, 2011 |
Bray Emmets 4-2 St Nicholas 3-8
A super game of football that ebbed and flowed between two
well matched teams. Bray got the early lead when player of the
match,Rachel Cullen goaled from distance. The Bray girls
really had todefend strongly for the remainder of the first
half as St Nicholasdominated before eventually breaking
through in the last 10 minutes ofthe first half to take a
half-time lead by 2-3 to 1-0.
Bray startedthe second half strongly. Another goal from
Rachel Cullen followed bya great shot to the St Nicholas net
by Eve Cunnane saw the teams levelshortly after half time. It
was real end-to-end stuff at this stagebut then the St
Nicholas girls got on top and despite some reallystrong
defending from the Bray girls, St Nicholas scored 5
pointswithout reply. The Bray girls didn't give up and 2
points from Cullengot them back in the game before a St
Nicholas goal gave them a 6point lead with only minutes
remaining. Again Rachel Cullen came tothe Bray girls rescue
with a cracking goal but despite a desperatelast gasp efforts
from Bray, some great defending from St Nicholas sawthem home
by 3 points. A great team effort from all the Bray girls
whodid the club proud with their efforts.

A great performance from the Bray girls who were driven on by
the midfield of Allanah Douglas and Rachel Cullen in the early

match in the Dublin league away to Na Dubhgall in Baldoyle. The

midfield players were recycling the ball very well
back to the forwards who made the most of every opportunity given

the match coming away with some fine points and goals. The
second half the Liffey girls picked up their game and put up a
strong performance and did start to dominate the game for a period,

In the second half Bray made a lot of changes. Ballyboden came
out strongly and began to put the Bray backs under pressure but

Carnew Emmet's. On Saturday 20th September a 20 strong squad

effort across the field, in particular by Allanah Conroy,Grace
O`Donovan and Roisin Mooney. But An Tochar came out winners in the
end.
Well done girls keep up the hard
work!!!
