Under 9 hurlers in Kilmacud Crokes Hurling tournament
17 October, 2010
The Under 9 hurlers played in a Kilmacud Crokes Hurling tournament
last Sunday. We played 3 great games, reaching the final of our
section. In the first game against Na Fianna, Mobhi Rd, Bray got
off to a flying start with Rory Lambe scoring 1-5 in the first
half. Conor Dowling scored a fine goal too and covered great ground
all day. Jamie Baguley, our most improved hurler, played best
against Kilmacud in the second game. The toughest and final game
pitched us against Faughs. In the final, Gavin Henderson gave a
110% to the Emmet Bhré efforts. The stand-out player over the 3
games was David Maloney who gave a masterclass in defence, bravery
and tenacity.
Leighton Glynn, Wicklow and Ireland star, had spoken to the boys
the day before in Bray Emmets. We felt his ever-encouraging words
and personal immpecable playing standards gave the team a genuine
lift. Tá súil againn go n-éiríonn go hiontach leis arís in aghaidh
na hAstrálaigh.
Emmet Bhré - Under 9. Aaron Graham, Conor Dowling, Conor
Hardiman, Darragh McCormack, David Maloney, David Nesbitt, Gavin
Henderson, Jamie Baguley, Michael Timmons, Nick Hederman, Rory
Lambe, Sarah Lambe, Seán McDonagh.
