We travelled to Raheny last Saturday without a full squad and a very much depleted team in the Dublin U12 Hurling Cup. Raheny opened the scoring with two quick points but a well taken goal by Michael Boland kept us in touch with a half time score of 1-2 each. We were quite happy with this but knew we were going to be under hugh pressure in the second half. Raheny piled on the pressure and with our defenders giving the opposition away too much time on the ball we were severely punished by having four goals scored against us. Michael Boland kept us in touch right throughout the game with some magnificent scores. He was in top form for free taking scoring 1-4, and added a further 2-3 from play. Thomas Emms on the half forward line never stopped trying and foiled many clearances from the Raheny defence. Well done to other players including Michael Pirkl, Jack Fitzgerald, Dylan Brady, Daniel Kennedy, Liam Benville and Conor Byrne who all tried hard. Unfortunately the odds were stacked against us by not having a full squad and resulted in Raheny deservedly winning by 5-5 to 3-7.
