Liffey Gaels visited Bray Emmets for the final Under 9 game of
the season. As 18 players turned out for both teams, we held two
games with Bray winning 18-12 in the first and coming very close in
the second 18-24.
Game A saw Eoghan Potts stop Liffey Gaels in defense and linked
up with Niall Groves whose running kept the opponents on the
backfoot. Ben Kearny and Noah Cummins controlled midfield with
Cathal Ryan and Paul Walsh making valuable blocks. Cian Kavanagh
and Oisin O'Duil kept a tight defense ensuring Bray controlled the
game. Once Shane Slattery moved into centre-forward, he quickly
scored 6 points.
Game B saw Ben Fay Foley, Cormac Kelly and Shane McDermott
controlling play for long periods. Fiachra Murphy and Paddy
Redmond, Lochlann Dougan all linked up well, making valuable
blocks. Anton Rivas, Daniel Lindsay and Rory continued to pressure
until the final whistle of a very close game.
Special thanks to referee, Harry Stephenson.
