U8 Girls Football Blitz in Rathnew GAA | 16 May, 2015 |
A football blitz was held in Rathnew. Unfortunately there was only two matches played due to late cancellations by other teams. The girls played An Tochar and Baltinglass. Two good strong games with Baltinglass proving the tougher of the two but our girls came out on top in both. Grace, Naoise & Niamh played particularly well in both games.

Bray Emmets Vs Kilmacud Crokes
After the postponement of a blitz in Wicklow we got an invite to play in Kilmacud. Despite the threatening weather, over 60 girls were raring to go and we managed to get two matches in before it got too wet and cold.
This was the first wet match the girls have ever played and they managed the conditions very well. We came from behind in the first game to salvage a draw and played really well in the second to win it. Goals from Ciara, Kate S and Kimberly were backed up by great defence from the rest of the team.

There were teams from St. Pats, Kilmacanogue, St Feargals and Kilcoole along with teams from the host club taking part in closely contested and sporting games. Thanks to all who helped set up and to the young whistlers who officiated the matches. Two of our under 8 football teams travelled to Fergal Og
on Friday evening to play Roundwood and Newtown. The weather was
very good giving us an evening of very entertaining
football. We had six very
close games with some great skill displayed from the whole squad.
There was some great goal keeping from Cian, Fiachra, Cal and
Kaleigh. Cathal, Ciarán,
Adam, Luke Micallef and James all played well in the backs with the
midfield very well marshalled by Joshua, Sean, Cillian, Jack and
Luke Kane. The forward line
saw some great link up play with fine scores from Nathan, Sean,
Charlie, Diarmuid and that great score from
Alex. Bray ended the evening
ahead in a couple of the matches with some impressive scores and
skill shown by all, well done to both teams. Thanks to Fergals for

| U8 team travel to Glenealy | 27 April, 2012 |
On Friday April 27th the Bray Emmets under 8 team travelled to
Glenealy for their latest Wicklow Go Games matches. In the first
match they met the home team, where both sides had a very good
start, despite the wet pitch conditions. Glenealy provided a strong
defence, but Bray were a very determined team and persevered with
great energy for the full game. In their second match they played
against Eire Óg. This proved to be a very exciting match, with
plenty of goal-scoring opportunities for both sides, all-in-all a
great evening of football entertainment. Team: Adam Prunty,
Kayleigh Broderick, Jack Kearney, Diarmuid McCarthy, Cillian
Murphy, Sean Byrne, James Byrne
Our second under 8 team faced two teams on the night! First
facing Eire Óg. Jamie featuring in goals making some good puck
outs! Shane and Luke defended well, moving the ball up to the well
paired midfield Cian and Joshua who in turn passed the ball to our
forwards Cathal and Luke Kane who worked hard up front! Overall
Bray Emmets Team A worked well together with goals coming from
Cathal and Cian to win the match. Team A includes: Shane Baguley,
Joshua Butler, Luke Kane, Cian Longmore, Cathal Mac Maoilin, Luke

| U8 hurlers on the road | 10 March, 2012 |
On the bright spring morning of Saturday March 10th, Bray Emmets
under-8 hurlers travelled to Frank Kelly Park in Rockbrook to play
Wanderers in their second Dublin hurling league. The match started
at 11am and was played over four 15-minute quarters. Bray had a
great start with their forwards going into attack straight away,
resulting in a couple of early goals. Jack and Adam played really
well in midfield and passed the ball up to the forwards with
ease.
The whole team worked really well together with great
determination and focus, making it a very exciting match for both
coaches and spectators alike. Rory, Kayleigh and Joshua worked
brilliantly together in providing a strong defence for Bray.
Bray put a lot of pressure on the Wanderers defence, who in turn
worked consistently hard to keep the sliotar out of the back of
their net. Cian and Luke gave some fantastic long shots up the
field towards James and Shane, who were more than able to use their
skills in effectively directing the sliotar into the net.
It was a wonderful team performance overall -well done
everyone!

| U8’s host St Judes | 25 February, 2012 |
Under 8 Hurling - Dublin League
Bray Emmet's Under 8 hurlers hosted St Judes (Rathfarnham) in Emmet
Park Old Connaught Ave for our first Dublin Hurling League match.
The game started at 10:00 sharp and was played over four 15 minute
quarters. The game began as a very evenly
matched affair with both teams showing great discipline regarding
holding their positions well and putting up very solid defense. As
the game progressed Bray started to move the ball very quickly up
to the forwards who knew exactly what to do with it - particularly
Cian Longmore who scored a hat trick of goals including a screamer
from 20 meters out.Luke Jakob's ability to steal the ball move it
quickly to the forwards made life very difficult for St Jude's who
found it increasingly difficult to get out of their own half with
the ball as the game progressed. Jack and Adam took some heavy
knocks from their opposite numbers but kept their cool and let
their hurling do the talking. Sean and Shane both used their speed
and skill to great advantage which combined very effectively with
an absolute lack of fear in taking on taking on physically larger
opponents who found it difficult to mark or even catch the Bray
duo. James, Nathan and Rory worked the mid field very effectively
to disrupt the flow between the St Jude's backs and forwards, they
did very well to draw the St Jude's defenders up while pumping ball
up to the forwards who used both the space created and fast supply
of ball to devastating effect! Overall a fantastic team performance
and a great start to the Dublin League.
