Minor Hurling League V Eire Óg

11 July, 2012

The Minor Hurling League for 2012 kicked off on Wed 11th July in Old Conna with Greystones as our visitors. Bray had a good turn out with 4 sets of brothers, the Doyles, Maloneys, Mc Cormack's and Lohans, great names for the future. Greystones could only field 14 so we played 14 a side and interchanged all the players. The final outcome was victory to Greystones by 2-11 to 1-8.

Bray started well with points from Cian O'Byrne and a goal from Sean Maloney after some good work by Cathal O'Duallachain but Greystones got on top in vital areas and led at half time by  5 points, after soring 2 goals coming up to the break. As Bray had played against the breeze we felt that we would give them a good game in the scond half however Greystones continued to dominate and had outstanding players in Anto Byrne, Kevin Byrne`, James Cranley, Ryan  Brandon and Eoin Keddyy . Bray had 2 goal chances which they failed to convert and were reduced to scoring points. At the back Ishmael and Enda were outstanding and did everything right ,top scorer for Bray was Cian O'Byrne with 7 points. As this was David Byrnes first outing with the team, I would like to welcome him and thank his family for the support. Training continues on Sun mornings at 10 for U16 and Minors and the minors also train with the senior panel on Mon and Friday.,

Note we had 3 players on the Wicklow minor Hurling team on Sat  which played Fingal and ended in a draw , Cian OByrne, Ben Mc Cormack and Enda O' Maolmhuidh with Ben being man of the match and Cian being top scorer with 3 points
