23 October, 2010

Bray Emmets 2.07 -St. Kevin's (Hollywood/Valleymount)  6pts.

Our boy's minor footballers  got some consolation for their defeat in the championship when they won the minor shield on Saturday 23rd October in Laragh. Bray made a good start in the game but were guilty of some poor finishing. Two converted 45s by Arron Murphy , a fine goal and two points by Bray's 'man of the match' Nicholas Sweeney  gave them a 1.04 to 3pts lead at half time.  Bray got another goal early in the second half from Daniel Molloy which gave them a 7 points lead.  St. Kevin's chipped away at Bray's lead with their centre forward, Paul Miley scoring 3 points from frees. Bray had 2 more points from  Arron Murphy and one from Adam Conway to keep them ahead at the end.  Arron Murphy accepted the shield on behalf of his team and Nicholas Sweeney received the 'man of the match' award.  All the Bray team played well, led by their captain Arron Murphy, Eoin O' Dea, Philip Haughton,Cillian Molloy, Nicky Sweeney, Adam Conway and John Henderson.    Team: Tadgh Dornan, Philip Haughton, Eoin O' Dea, Cathal O Dualleachain, Enda Molloy, Arron Murphy, (4pts), Cillian Molloy, Daire Lohan, Nicky Sweeney,(1.02) Adam O Conway,(1pt) David Sullivan, Daniel Molloy,(1gl) Harry Stephenson, John Henderson, Daragh Maloney, Dan Mc Cann.
