Eire Og

Bray 2.08 - Eire Og, Greystones 2.08.

The Emmet's under 16 footballers started off their North East League Campaign with a draw against Eire Og in Old Connaught on Monday 6th April.  Both teams were short some regular players but the teams  served up a great contest, which was played in a great spirit.  Eire Og led deservedly by 5pt to 3pts at half time having played with a slight wind.   Bray scored two quick points to level the game but Eire Og kept their noses in front by taking some nice points.  They also scored a goal which looked like putting them on the road to victory. But the Bray lads responded with a great goal from Pierce Sweeney and another from Mikey Lee. Not to be outdone, Eire Og scored a fine goal and the game could have gone either way at the end.  The draw being a fair result.  All the team played outstanding on the night, with a special word of thanks to Adam Conway, for his commitment and  speedy recovery to Mikey Lee.  Scorers: Pierce Sweeney 1.05, Mikey Lee 1.01, David Sullivan and Dan Mc Cann, 1pt each team: Tadgh Dornan, Cormac O Meadhra, Patrick Tunney, Cathal O Duilleachain, Paidraig Hogan, Pierce Sweeney, Mathew Kelly, Nicky Sweeney, Dan Mc Cann, Luke Maloney, David O Sullivan, Daire Lohan,  Mikey Lee, Muiris O Duill, Adam Conway.  Referee: Derek Oman. Training resumes after the Easter break on Thursday 16th April at 6.15pm in O/C.
