U14 Hurling League Division 5

1 October, 2016

Whitehall Colmcille 8-12   Bray Emmets  5-3

The U-14 hurlers finished the league campaign last Saturday in Whitehall. On a lovely morning for hurling , but again without many first choice players, the hurlers struggled against a Whitehall side that have romped through the league thus far. Despite some outstanding individual performances, Aaron at full back, Adam and Daniel F at half back and Ben and Sam at midfield, Emmets struggled to contain Whitehall, and with the concession of a brace of soft goals went into the break trailing 4-4 to 1-1, Ben and Sam with a point and a goal respectively. Sam had a storming second half and scored  3-2, Tadhg, Adam, Aaron and Rian fought for everything and Ben and Fionn swapped places in goal. Andrew scored a further goal for Bray, but Whitehall found space and added too many further scores and emerged comfortable winners. This was a gutsy and determined performance by the team but with so many absences found themselves with too much to do.

Team: Fionn, Aaron, Eoin, Tadhg, Adam, Daniel F, Sam, Ben, Brian, Rian, Andrew, Conor, Daniel M.
