Match Report U -14 Hurling Dublin Division 5

27 February, 2016

Bray Emmets v Pine Forest Gaels

The u-14 hurlers began their Division 5 Dublin campaign with a well- earned 5-7 to 2-2 victory over a strong and determined Pine Forest Gaels team on the 3 G pitch in Old Conna on Saturday 27/02/’16.

Emmets dominated with excellent team play and coherent movement of the ball from defence to attack, but the strength of both defences saw the game scoreless for the first quarter, and a half-time score of 2-2 to 0-0.

Ben had another great day in goal and continues to impress with his puckouts. Aaron and Adam were stand outs in the central defensive positions, preventing even one shot on goal in the first half, while the other defenders Eoin, Tadhg and Daniel Munroe controlled the ball well and kept it moving forward to Philip, Sam and Jack who controlled the middle third. Once again Sam was excellent all day and finished the day with 2-3, and Jack chipped in with a point. The forward unit (Brian, Peter, Rian, Daniel Flavin, and Andrew) harried and won ball with great determination and were excellent throughout, though scores were generally hard to come by. Not for Brian however who finished with 2-3, and Peter with 1-0.

It was a very promising start to the season and the potential and determination shown by the lads on Saturday offers great hope for the year ahead.

Team: Ben, Daniel Munroe, Aaron, Eoin, Tadhg, Adam, Philip, Sam, Brian, Peter, Rian, Daniel Flavin, Jack , Andrew.
