U14 Hurling:

1 March, 2014

Saturday, 1st March 2014, there was a lively start to the Dublin U14, division 2 hurling league which saw Bray Emmets overcoming a competent St Judes outfit. The early running was done by the eager work of Andrew Conway and Joe Phelan, while fine scores from Andrew O'Brien (1-1) and Macdara Ó Midheach settled the home team.
By half-time, there were 2 points between the teams. In the second-half, Ciarán McKay, a colossus throughout, set the tone with a point from play from nearly 50 metres. He was hugely helped by the industry of Ronan McMahon, Donnchadh Griffin-Carroll and Stephen Flynn. The defining scores were crowd-thrilling goals from Conway and Ben Kearney, the latter skilfully following the flight of the sliotar to the opposition netting. There are 5 divisions in this age-group, so the team deserves credit for what they are achieving at this level in the widely acknowledged Dublin juvenile hurling domain. Go nádúrtha, bhí an-áthas ar na traenálaithe uilig chomh maith.
Emmet Bhré 3-13,
Naomh Jude 2-6.
