Bray Vs Ballyboden

The U-13 hurlers returned to winning ways against a skilful and much bigger Ballyboden side on Pitch 1 in Old Conna on Saturday 5/09/2015. On a busy day in the club and playing with the aid of a fresh breeze in the first half, Emmets started in a determined fashion. They were made fight all the way, but putting in their best performance of the season they outhurled and out fought a very fancied Ballyboden side. In the first half scores were very hard to come by, and the Ballyboden backs repelled waves of attack built on fine performances by the Emmets half back line of Tadhg, Adam and Zack, and the midfield dominance of Sam and Philip. Oscar opened the scoring with a great team score and Rory quickly added a goal and a point. Gavin added another excellent goal and with Brian, Cian and Sam adding further points , Emmets went into the break leading by 2-4 to 0- 3. Andrew, Daniel Flavin, Conor, Rian and Daniel Munroe all did great work in the forward line as everyone contributed . Great praise to the half backs already mentioned who were joined by Sebastian after half time. The full back line was again very solid with fantastic work by Luan and Eoin and Aaron at fullback who all worked tirelessly to deny Ballyboden a foothold in the game. Ballyboden added 3-5 in the second half but were repeatedly repelled, with Ben putting in his best performance ever in goal. At the other end Sam and Oscar goaled at critical times, Rory took his second, and Cian finished the scoring with a super point, to see Bray Emmets victorious at the end on a scoreline of 5-5 to 3-9.
