Bray Emmets vs Liffey Gaels

On an unseasonably warm Saturday 31st October Brays under 12 hurlers lost their ultimate game in their Dublin League and as a result of scores elsewhere gave up their position at the head of the table to finish third on points difference.

Bray started slowly and were 10 points down after 10 minutes against a physically larger opposition. This team are however nothing but determined and as result of huge effort underpinned by skill they fought their way back into the game to lead as the half time whistle blew. In this time they scored all manner of points and goals, from frees to sideline cuts to rasping shots and balls doubled on in the air.

Liffey Gaels, though came out in the second half full of determination. They began to use their extra height and strength to good effect once more and edged into the lead. Again Bray fought back and started to gain ascendency as they unleashed ball after ball towards their opponents goal. Unfortunately they fell just short to lose by the minimum. As the referee called time the scoreboard read Bray 3-9 to Liffey Gaels 4-7.

The journey is only beginning for the team and without doubt they will taste victory in the near future. They have grown as hurlers throughout the year and are a fantastic bunch who always represent their club with pride and passion.
