U12 hurlers face Western Gaels

29 April, 2013

On Monday, 29th April, the Under-12 Hurlers played their first Wicklow Hurling League match against Western Gaels in Hollywood in near perfect weather for hurling, dry and warm with a clear blue sky. This was the first time this particular group of lads had all played together, but after just a few minutes it was apparent that every player wanted to play their part, each using their own individual talents to maximum effect. Over the course of the match players changed positions, this happened seamlessly with the lads getting on with whatever task they were asked to do, be it keeping the net empty, marking and breaking up attacks, bossing midfield or adding to the score board. What was highly evident was that every player had the right attitude from the first to the last minute, they all worked hard as individuals and as a team which led to a comfortable victory. The match was played in a really sporting spirit and Western Gaels were gracious hosts. Final Score: Western Gaels 1-6 Bray Emmets 9-17
Emmet Bhré Under-12 (2001): Conor Hardiman (1-1), David Maloney (1-10), David Nesbitt (3-2), Fionn Dougan (0-1) , Jack Treacy, Jamie Baguley (2-2), Michael Timmons (0-1), Philip Jakob, Rian Knox (1-0), Sam Kearney (1-0), Seán McDonagh.
