Goal fest for Under-12 Hurlers

12 October, 2013

On Saturday, 12th October, the 2001 Under-12 Hurlers travelled to Finglas to play Erin’s Isle. Once the lads lined up before the throw in it was clear that they would be in for a physical battle, each of the lads giving noticeable height and weight advantage to the opposition but the Bray lads don’t let things like that bother them. From the whistle the Bray defence was called into action early on, their commitment and tenacity were commendable. Sean received two early heavy physical knocks for his troubles, despite being in some discomfort, he waved away Nurse Colm so he could continue setting the standard for the defence. With the back line doing their job, Rory riffled in two quick goals to put Bray in front, but the physicality of the match took its toll, with first Gavin, then Davy, then Peter  all suffering from collisions and bangs. The lads fought bravely to the end, and were unlucky to lose by a single point.

Final score: Erin’s Isle 6-6 Bray Emmets 7-2
