Match Report: U-12 Hurling

2 November, 2013

On Saturday, 2nd November, the 2001 Under-12 Hurlers played their last game of the season in the Dublin League against Erin Go Bragh at Páirc Emmet Bhré. Bray played with a strong wind in the first half, well taken points from both Brian, Seán and Davy left the half time score at 0-8 to 1-0. The second half, with the wind strongly blowing in to the Bray faces, had David frequently defending his goal, the back line of Michael, Sam, Seán and Fionn resolutely contested both Erin Go Bragh and the wind. Gavin and Davy in the middle were busy helping out the defence and also ensured that the front line containing Rian and Darragh had a decent supply line, despite the strong wind. Brian and Conor combined well up front and scored three well taken second half goals between them. The match was a total team performance, with the heroics in the second half defence being every bit as important as the scores at the other end. A word of thanks to Brian and Sam from the 2002 Group who, despite having already played a hurling match that morning, togged out to make up the numbers as some players were missing due to holidays.
