U12 hurlers first outing in Wicklow

30 April, 2012

The u12 hurlers played their first Wicklow game against a lively and skilful St Pats on Monday night. St Pats were first out of the blocks and, on the scoreboard stunning Bray with some early artillery. Goalkeeper, Darragh Rochford was forced to make two or three excellent saves. Gradually Bray settled, buoyed by the defensive in-put of Sid Hunt and a goal and a point from Rory Lambe. In the second-half, a fine long-range effort was converted by Macdara Ó Midheach, while the midfield pairing of Ben Kearney and Andrew Conway worked hard sending ball into the sharp-shooting James Anders.  However,  this was one that escaped  by a single point to a deserving Naomh Pádraig. Beidh lá eile againn le cúnamh Dé.  After the game, Wicklow hurlers Andy O'Brien and Jim Connors kindly came over to give some advice and words of encouragement to the Bray squad.
