U-11 Hurling

Bray Emmets v St Kevins. Our under 11 team made it two wins from two in their Dublin league campaign with an incredible comeback in the final few minutes of their encounter with St Kevins. Playing into a stiff  breeze in the first half, Bray Emmets found themselves trailing by 2-2 to 0-0 at the interval, with scoring opportunities proving hard to come by.

The second half started very brightly for the home side, getting a goal back in the early stages but this was soon cancelled out by a long-range goal from St Kevins, who looked to be in full control of the match.

Bray upped the intensity again, and had several good chances which were all snuffed out by some excellent St Kevins goalkeeping. With five minutes remaining, the away side still led by 3-2 to 1-0. Adam Prunty and Fiachra O'Dunai were moved in to provide an extra presence in midfield alongside Finn Tracey and Alex Colgan, and the Bray forwards, Cillian Murphy, Jamie Mooney, Shane Baguley and Jack Kearney closed down the St Kevins defence, preventing them from clearing their lines and forcing their defenders into a series of mistakes. The pressure told, with Bray scoring four goals in the final five minutes. St Kevins, who had played very well throughout the match, mounted some final challenges on the Bray goal, but the defence of Cathal MacMaolain, Dara Byrne, Jamie Healy, James Byrne and Nathan Hunter who was now in goals, held firm for the closing stages. An absolutely brilliant display from the Bray Emmets u-11s, who showed the importance of never giving up.
