U11 hurlers V Thomas Davis
31 March, 2012
The under 11 hurlers travelled to Thomas Davis on Saturday
morning for the third match of their Dublin campaign. The match was
played on astroturf in near windless conditions. Seán McDonagh was
the first player from either team to score with a huge point from
near half way, Aaron Graham finished off a fine piece of team work
with a goal, not to be outdone, Rory Lambe also found the net
before half time to leave the score at the break 2-1 to 0-0 in
Bray's favour. The second half was a tighter affair, Gavin
Henderson scoring 2 points, Rory Lambe (1-1) and David Nesbitt
saving his best until last (a well taken goal from distance). The
final score was (4-4) to (2-2), Thomas Davis should well have
scored more, but the usual excellence of Rian Knox in goal, Michael
Timmons and David Maloney in defence ensured that they were held to
(2-2). Conor Hardiman operated well in front of the defence with
Darragh McCormack making a nuisance of himself disrupting Thomas
Davis' midfield.
