U11 Hurlers travel to St.Vincents

5 May, 2012

On Saturday the Under 11s completed the last of their matches in their preliminary Dublin league at a sunny St.Vincents. The lads got stuck in from the start against a strong St. Vincents team, the first half was a tight affair Rory Lambe scoring two points from frees and Davy Maloney scoring a fine point from long range. Tight defending from Michael, Séan, Davy and Gavin and a couple of great saves from Rian in goal kept the scores from St.Vincents down and Bray were a point up at half time. During the second half, the wind and the hill favoured St.Vincents. Jamie, Conor and Rory toiled with real heart in the middle of the pitch, never giving up the challenge against very proficient players. Up front, Aaron, Daragh and Stephen gamely challenged any balls that came their way. Rory added to the score, but a 5 minute spell late in the match saw three goals scored by St.Vincents. The lads played until the final whistle and showed excellent tenacity on a day when their luck was not always present, it is matches like this when the lads learn most and develop as a team.
