Bray Emmets Under 11 Hurlers vs Oliver Plunketts
25 February, 2012
On Saturday morning the under 11s commenced their Dublin hurling
campaign welcoming Oliver Plunketts to a warm Emmet Park. The first
half was won by both defences and thus a low scoring affair. The
half time talk by Brian and Larry proved inspirational as the
second half was dominated by Bray. Rian Knox continued his
excellent goal keeping, making several saves (as every bit valuable
as scoring goals at the other end). Michael Timmons,
Seán McDonagh, and Rory Lambe defended well, keeping Rian's work
load down and only allowed Oliver Plunketts 1-1 for the
whole match. Gavin Henderson refused to be bullied in midfield and
physically dominated despite competing with lads bigger than him.
Jamie Baguley competed tirelessly alongside, bravely playing on
despite a nasty accidental chop to his hand. Up front David
Nesbitt, Conor Hardiman and Nick Hederman played as a unit rather
than individuals, all three found the back of the net, but more
importantly passed to each other rather than shoot from impossible
angles. Daragh McCormack and Aaron Graham fitted seamlessly into
the side when called into action. Two of the main and noticeable
reasons for Bray's victory were the accurate passing between all
players and the way the lads performed as a team with everyone
putting the cause of the team before themselves.
Well done lads, you even made Colm smile.
