It was uphill and into a fresh breeze against Castleknock in their own grounds in the first half. This was no easy task. But you should have seen the spirit and determination of this team. They tore into their opponents right from the beginning and their attitude was powerful. All seventeen players gave their best and a tremendous display of hurling skills. What more can you ask for? They never really allowed Castleknock settle. They kept continuous pressure on each of their opponents. And where they didn't win the ball, they made sure Castleknock didn't either.

Thomas Foley had an outstanding game at midfield, gave tremendous support in defence and attack and scored two great goals. His brother, Cormac, was tigerish in attack and also scored two goals, one an absolute beauty, a low hard ground shot giving the goalkeeper no chance. Our first score came from a free scored by Michael Boland who had his usual very strong performance and ended up scoring 1-5. Conor McNally when called on in goals was very solid, making some good clearances and very intelligent puck-outs, keeping the ball well clear from the good players from Castleknock.

Conor had a strong defence in front of him in Gavin Dowling, Patrick Michel and our newcomer Jack Carroll who put in a solid performance. In the half-back line, Dylan Terry made some great catches and fine clearances under pressure. Michael Pirkl as usual worked hard and was very reliable. Best of the forwards was Conor Prendergast who displayed excellent catches and first-touch hurling.  Bray ended up winning by 5-5 to 0-0.

Well done to all players and also thanks to the parents who made the long and sometimes tricky journey. If any other players  are interested in joining this wonderful team, please contact either Dan Boland, 087-2555974 or Neal O'Doherty, 086-8091737. Training is Tues and Thug 7.00 to 8.30.
