Kilmacud Crokes-run Hurling Blitz
14 October, 2011
The Under 10 hurlers played in a Kilmacud Crokes-run Hurling
Blitz last week. This was a very valuable and uplifting
exercise.
Firstly, we played Vincents (Ath Cliath) with (2-1) coming from
the stick of sharp-shooting full forward Gavin Henderson. Bray won
on a (4-3) to (2-0) margin.
Next up were O'Loughlin Gaels (Cill Chainnigh), a team Bray beat
(2-1) to (2-0) with Rory Lambe (1-1) taking some of the important
scores.
Third team into Bray Emmets den were Kilmacud Crokes who
suffered from the fire power of Rian Knox (1-0) and Seán McDonagh
(1-0) to go down to Bray on a (2-2) to (1-1) scoreline.
In the final, a flagging Bray side met a fluid, warlike James
Stephens (Cill Chainnigh). While we endured the first half, we
certainly acquitted ourselves better in the second, with David
Maloney (0-1) taking the pick of the scores.
Overall, stout defence from Michael Timmons and Sam Kearney, and
mid-fielder Jamie Baguley in particular meant that Bray remained
competitive to the last.
Táimid ag traenáil arís Dé Máirt ag 7pm i bPáirc Emmet Bhré.
