Cúl camps were a major success, with loads of future Emmet stars.
Bray Emmetts Summer and Cul Camps

What two weeks we just had in Bray Emmet’s Summer and Cul Camps with over 200 players taking part. Each day the players from 4 years of age to 13 learned new skills, refined older ones under the watchful eye of some of the best Coaches the GAA has to offer and YES they are in Bray Emmet’s. Our young coach’s are also the future of the success of Bray Emmet’s, the skills can be taught but it is the enthusiasm, endeavor and willingness to help our players become better players and people and create a culture in Bray Emmett’s that our coach’s brought to the camps.

Our current coaches do an excellent job but we have to keep breeding coaches with new volunteers and they will be fully supported with workshops, Foundation and award 1 courses that Willie Braine will be running from October throughout the year. All coaches are open to “Another Voice” or more coaches to help out and support our teams and especially senior players that are playing at a high standard. So if any player would like to help out even for an hour a month Willie will talk to you about the best team that suits your skills as a coach whether it be Boys or girls football, hurling or camogie. So if interested please contact Willie Braine at 0860266506 or email williebraine@eircom.net

On the last day we had all our Bray Emmet’s Heroes for the younger players to aspire to, see photos attached

Thank you to members of the club that came to support the children; Podge (Minor Hurling Captain), Emma, Orlaith, Emily, Vicky and Amy from the first Camogie team to win an Adult Championship, Peter Kiely (Captain of Senior Hurling Championship winning team 2014, Cul Camp Coach and Minor Hurling Coach) and John Henderson (Member of the Championship winning team and current Captain of Wicklow Senior Hurlers).

Hurling reminder
The GAA would like to remind all players at all levels in all Hurling Games and Hurling Practice Sessions it is mandatory for, and the responsibility of, each individual player to wear a helmet with a facial guard that meets the standards set out in IS:335 or other replacement standard as determined by the National Safety Authority of Ireland (NSAI).

All players are advised that in the event of a head injury occurring, if the helmet being worn does not meet the standard or is modified or altered from the original manufactured state, they are not covered under the terms of the GAA Player Injury Fund.

Club jerseys, unused hurleys and helmets
Would  all players, parents and mentors to check if they have any Bray Emmets team jerseys.  There are a number of jerseys missing from juvenile and adult team sets .  The jerseys can be returned any night of the week to the clubhouse or on Saturday morning between 10.30 and 12.30pm. We are also looking for any hurleys and hurling helmets that are not being used at present to be dropped into the clubhouse where we will find good use for them.

Intermediate Hurling Championship 2nd round

Last Friday the 31st of July we played our second match in intermediate hurling championship against Barndarrig in Newcastle. We had the bare bones of a team going down as Matt, Lorcan, Jordan, were away Bracker, Harry, and Paul Barry injured, none the less we had fifteen or sixteen good hurlers on board and were ready to do battle, unfortunately Barndarrig were also without players and didn’t have the strength in depth that we had. The match was over by half time and proved only to be a run out for our lads, the final score was 9.22 to 3 points, our full forward line “went to town”, Tom Cash 4.7, Liam Kenny 2.3 and Brian Duggan 2.4 with some really well worked scores, great passing movements between them, others to shine were, Captain Daragh Maloney(2) who is in great form those days, Ben McCormack(4) one of our shinning lights for the future , Ryan Tynan(1.1) Luke O’Reilly(1) and a half back line rock solid of Cathal Reddin, Peter Conroy and Barry Cunningham. There is one thing for sure it is going to take a good team to beat us and places will be at a premium, there are a number of these players knocking on the door for a place on the senior team and we will do well to hold on to a few of them. I would like to thank all the members of the senior team for going down, helping and supporting us, Peter Walsh for the warm up, Diarmuid and Paddy on the water, Harry on the stats, Jackie on the list, and then we have the support within the club great to see ye all there, not sure when the next match is but training is tonight Tuesday at seven.
