Match Reports

U8 Girls Football Blitz in Rathnew GAA
A football blitz was held in Rathnew.  Unfortunately there was only two matches played due to late cancellations by other teams. The girls played An Tochar and Baltinglass.  Two good strong games with Baltinglass proving the tougher of the two but our girls came out on top in both.  Grace, Naoise & Niamh played particularly well in both games.

Mentor: Marie Curran
Team: Aine Hayde, Grace Kennedy, Kate Butler, Kate Slattery, Katie Curran, Lili Neilson, Naoise Sweeney McMaster, Niamh Canavan, Olivia Gibson

U13 Hurling
Bray Vs St Vincents
Bray Emmets under thirteen hurlers played their fifth game in the Dublin league last Thursday against St Vincents. Rush hour traffic did not discommode the team who started well with Sam scoring two quick points. Philip as always was commanding in midfield ensuring that the forward line of Brian, Rory, Daniel Cathal, Zack and Riain got plenty of ball resulting in some excellent scores.
The backline had a quiet first half but jack,Adam, Tadhg, Sebastain, Aaron and Andrew had their moments with Ben well protected in goal. The introduction of Luan, Gavin, Michael and Jamie further improved matters and Bray were in a commanding lead at half time.
Now playing into a freshening breeze Bray again settled down well with Cathal scoring his hatrick early on,he was ably assisted up front by Michael Luan, Gavin, Jack, Daniel Riain Rory and Brian to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Sam and Philip continued their good form in midfield with the backline now under a bit more pressure coped well with Aaron, Adam,Andrew, Jamie,  Zack Sebastian and Tadhg all playing well. Ben in goal had a quiet night but his huge puck outs set up a number of attacks which yielded scores.
This was a good performance against a team which we very lucky to beat last year. A lot of credit must go the players for their efforts and commitment at training and games.
Special mention must go to Terry Mulcahy for all the hard work he has put into training and conditioning the team which is evidenced by the improvement in the 2002 group particularly over the last two years. The lads are committed trainers and are beginning to reap the rewards of drills that Terry has devised for the group. Jimmy Barry Murphy better watch out!
Team: Ben, Aaron, Andrew,Sebastain, Tadhg, Jack, Adam, Sam, Philip, Zack, Rory, Brian, Riain, Cathal, Daniel, Jamie, Luan, Gavin and Michael.

U14 Hurling
Bray Vs Greystones
The Under 14 hurlers played Éire Óg, Greystones, Wed 13th May in Páirc Emmet Bhré. It was a ideal evening for a game and the lads were quick to settle. Gavin Henderson and Tadhg McCarthy got on to a lot of good early ball, distributing with pace to the alert Zack Collins and Eoin Holmes up front. Seán McDonagh and Rory Lambe scored some fine points from play, laying the foundation for a Bray lead.
In the second-half, David Flavin did very well, Philip Jakob fielded some fantastic high ball, but the score of the half was a David Nesbitt goal, excellently caught outside the square then venemously dispatched to the roof of the rigging. Bhí na traenálaithe sona sásta leis an mbua seo.

Foireann : Cathal Eddy, Conor Hardiman, Daniel Flavin, David Maloney (0-5, Captaen), David Nesbitt (2-1), Eoin Holmes, Jack Treacy, Gavin Henderson (0-1), Michael Timmons, Peter Aherne, Philip Jakob, Rory Lambe (2-7), Seán McDonagh (0-6), Sebastian Coleman, Tadhg McCarthy, Zack Collins (0-2). Bainisteoir - Larry Timmons.

Under 15 Hurling
Bray Vs Naomh Mearnóg
The Under 15 hurlers played Dublin league against Naomh Mearnóg, Sunday 17th May. The early exchanges were robust and physical, yet Ben Kearney and Ciarán McKay firmly laid down the Bray Emmets marker. After 10 minutes, the Bray gameplan took more shape and the scores began to flow, Ronan McMahon and James Anders accepting due plaudits.
In the second-half, Cian Lohan continued his vein of form. There was plenty of courageous graft from Joe Phelan and Lochlann Dougan, while Stephen Flynn and Tony Jackson both earned deserved admiration for their productive, unselfish toil. Bua sásúil a bhí ann, ach ní bheidh cluiche againn go ceann míosa anois.
Emmet Bhré  5-16, Naomh Mearnóg  3-4.

Foireann : Sam Kearney, Darragh Rochford, Cian Lohan (0-4), Macdara Ó Midheach, Lochlann Dougan, Donnchadh Griffin-Carroll, Ciarán McKay (0-1, Captaen), Sid Hunt, Ronan McMahon (2-0), Ben Kearney (1-0), James Anders (1-2), Tony Jackson, David Maloney (1-3), Joe Phelan (0-2), Rory Lambe (0-2), Andrew O’Brien, Andrew Conway (0-2), Stephen Flynn, Michael Timmons, Seán McDonagh.
