Wicklow U17 Football

Wicklow competed in an under 17 football tournament near Ardee Co Louth on Saturday 24th July. The other teams in the group were Cavan, Carlow and Down. We had six players representing our club on the panel, Tadgh Dornan, Philip Haughton, Nicholas Sweeney, Adam Conway, Alan Cleary and David Sullivan. All the boys acquitted themselves very well, with Adam Conway scoring 1.07 and Nicholas Sweeney scoring a goal. Wicklow lost the first game to Cavan by 3 points, drew with Carlow, after leading by 9 points at half time and had a great win over Down in the final game. In the under 16 competition in Rathoath Co Meath, we were represented by Muiris O' Floinn and Enda Molloy on that panel. Wicklow were grouped with Westmeath, Down and Louth.
