5TH CLASS BLIZ

On Friday 13th Bray Emmets in conjunction with the VEC's Sports Promotion Unit hosted a school blitz. We had 10 teams representing 5 schools present - St Cronan's(3), Scoil Chualann(3), Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh(2), St Peters(1) and St Kieran's(1).

With five pitches running simultaneously each team got to play three round robin matches and then each played in their own final. Every child got to play plenty of football and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

With all these type of events there are a number thank you for everyone's effort.

Vincent and Hugh for taking time off to set up pitches, ref matches and simultaneously manage teams.

Maria and Gaye for distributing the refreshments.

Gearoid, Johnny and Paul our school coaches who refereed matches.

Shane and Dan from the VEC who acted as the fixtures secretary and took the photos. Lastly a big thank you to the school principals and teachers that brought the teams to Old Conna for the day - without their endorsement and co-operation the event couldn't happen.
