Minor Footballers in County A Final.
Monday, September 29, 2008
The Emmet's minor footballers take on the favourites and current champions, Blessington, in the County Minor A Final next Sunday in Aughrim at 1.15pm. The footballers are trying to make it a minor double for our club, our hurlers having won their championship earlier in the year. We will be playing in our fourth A Final in five years, having won two and lost one. Blessington were the only team to beat our boys in the group section of this year's championship and will be favourites. That was the first game that we played and since then the team has steadily improved. This group of lads have been together since under 10 and have won every age group since then. The management team of Pat Wogan, P.J. Cunningham and Frank Devlin have guided this team through all those years. The team can certainly win this game if every player plays to his full potential. The Minor Final is on at 1.15pm and is followed by the men's senior final between St. Patrick's, who beat our seniors in the S/F and Kiltegan. This should also be a cracking game. All club members and non members are urged to go to Aughrim and support our minors.
