Bray Emmets Camogie

Monday, August 04, 2008

Would you like to be part of a growing club in your community? Could you spare a couple of hours to help with coaching in one of the  local primary schoolsé If your answer is yes then Bray Emmets camogie club would love to hear from you.

Over the last few years the fast and exciting game of camogie has made a welcome comeback and the club are justifiably very proud of our young players. We have started coaching in schools and we have high hopes for the future given the calibre of these young players.

Our focus is on FUN, FUN, FUN, NOT WIN, WIN, WIN! Our goal is "sport for life",and "sport for all" not just sport for the elite few.

Exercise, skill and meeting new and old friends socially are by-products of sport!

In an age of computer games and  playstations it is all too easy for our young people to become inactive and set an unhealthy trend for life. During these fine(and not so fine) evenings the girls are getting exercise, fresh air and learning new skills, which is so much better than being indoors.

If you are a parent of a child attending a primary school and you can spare an hour or two per week to help with coaching during the school hours you will be well rewarded when you see the enthusiasm and talent there is among the girls. You don't have to be an expert, training is available from the club, the main thing for the girls is that they can get out in the fresh air to play and learn a new skill/sport.

If you think you can lend a hand in any way we would be delighted to hear from you.
