|Wicklow Go Games blitz|
10 April, 2017
The first Wicklow Go Games blitz of the season and there were eleven U10 teams in Ballinakill. We played against Blessington, Newtown & An Tochar and are very pleased to report that we had 3 good wins. Most pleasing of all was the improvements in our newest players. They have really started to settle into the team and Mia in particular played really well. Goal of the day went to Niamh.

30 July, 2016
We attended a blitz in St Pats and played 3 matches. With a mix up over the start time we were only out of our cars when the first match against Newtown started so it was understandable that we started slow. Thankfully we just about held on in the first half. Much better second half and points from Kate S & Tara got us he win. We were too strong for Pats 2 in the second match and although Pats 1 were more competitive in the third match we were again too strong so finished off with three wins from three. Star player was Emily Ryan.

Bray Emmets v Naomh Olaf
This was our last Dublin fixture before their summer break. After all the morning excitement from the end of the Academy and the fact that the ice cream van hovered in the background it was hard to concentrate on the game ahead. A bit of a slow start and Olaf's played some nice football to take the lead. This woke us up and we started to play much better but we unable to convert our chances. The second half was again tough to make a breakthrough but persistent breaks forward finally started to pay off and goals from Ciara, Annie and Cara (with her hand) finally paid off. But special note to Katie who played brilliant in defence and was left 3-on-1 many times but still manged to clear the lines. The ice creams after were well earned!

We had a football blitz in Roundwood where we played three matches. First off we lost again to Ashford who have some good players but a little loss of concentration in defence let them in for some easy scores. Next we played Ashford and had a very competitive game that rightly finished as a draw. Although we let them score too easily again. The team talk for the last game focused on defence and teamwork and it really showed in the last game against An Tochar. Our poor keeper never even got a touch because our mids and forwards did so well. Ciara, Kate & Laoise played very well in all three games but Annie finished off the day with a huge point that drew gasps from the parents of both sides.

Camogie Blitz - Greystones
We also had a camogie blitz and played matches against Eire Og, Glenealy and Kilcoole. Such a contrast to the soaking we got last week, we all got sunburnt this time. The first game against Eire Og was a well played out draw. Glenealy had a strong team out and were too much for us. The last game against Kilcoole was a cracking game. End to end stuff and we took the lead with a brilliant goal with a clearance from defence by Saibh, another from Kimberly in mid and finished off by Lily. We held them off until just at the end when they got one back for the draw.

Bray Emmets v St. Marks
Girls played outstanding against St. Marks. They were down players so Roisin & Niamh were good enough to play for St. Marks and helped make our girls work that bit harder. We had a strong start with no scoring from St. Marks so we had to move around the girls at half time to make make our team less attacking and help make a fairer match for everyone. Birthday girl Ashling celebrated with a cracking goal. Great team work with great passing

Versus Ashford, St Pats and Shankill
We had a blitz in Ashford in the morning and a match against Shankill in the afternoon. We sent one team to each venue and had three very good matches. In Ashford we played against 16 St. Pats players who subbed on a whole different team for the second half so our girls had to play against fast fresh legs. But no bother to them, they defended brilliantly and scored great points on the break. The second match against Ashford was even to start with but a couple of accidental knocks to two players meant we played with 6 ½ players and this was too much to ask to hold off a good team. Super sub Grace gave us a lift but was too late by then. The match against Shankill was very even and they have improved a lot since we last played them but we help on for a good win in the end.

Our first Wicklow football blitz together with the U8's. A perfect morning for the 11 visiting teams. We had two U10 teams and played 6 matches against St Pats, Roundwood and Newtown and finished with 5 wins and a draw. This was the first outing for a number of girls and after the initial nerves in the first game they got into to their stride after that. Great performances from Ciara, Erica, Kate, Rachel and Tara but special meantion to Teagan on her first game who was great in goal and Ruby who scored too many points!

Bray Emmets vs Naomh Olaf
We had two teams who played two games each and all combined we had four good wins. Not only good attacking but great defence to keep the scores against few and far between. Team Jellyfish (don't ask) had great points from Ella & Cara but Emily & Tara were great in midfield picking up every loose ball. While on Team Cobra Katie played a stormer backed up ably by Niamh Clancy and Erica but 18 very good team performances over all.

Bray Emmets v St. Marys Saggart
A rotten day but the girls were full of sugar from the photo session in the club earlier. We travelled to Saggart and despite the conditions it was well worth the trip for a great match. Our girls initially couldn't get used to the fact that the ball would not bounce on the mud (I blame the 3G) but then got their kick timing in and we scored some great points. We played better again in the second half but despite a lot of attacking their goal they were mostly wides. The overs in the first half meant we held on for the win.

St Pats Blitz On Saturday morning the girls travelled down to St. Pats in Wicklow for their first Co. Wicklow football blitz of the season. First up were An Tochar, Aibhe made sure the ball stayed away from her net, while Cara battled away wherever she could for the Bray effort, Olivia made some great runs forward which helped contribute to a Bray victory. At the final whistle the scores were level. The third and final match was against another strong St Pat's team, Ellen O'D was tasked with marking the St Pat's star player which she did with determination and to great effect, Ellen W made some great runs and Eimear's passing ensured Bray kept possession of the ball, a cruel last second goal to St. Pats levelled the scores and denied Bray a deserved victory. |U10 Girls win low scoring encounter|
15 June, 2013
On a sunny Páirc Emmet Bhré last weekend, our Under-10 Girls competed against St Marks in a very tight contest. St. Marks came out of the blocks to dominate the early stages but the girls from Bray, with great endeavour and composure, eventually settled into game. Amy Butler and Sarah Lambe began to dominate in midfield and chances were created. Our defence held firm with tigerish performances from Aoife Gorman, Eirinn Doyle and Eva Hanley. Meadbh Wogan-Murphy’s great goalkeeping also kept St. Marks at bay. Ellen Docherty and Eimear Timmons combined well together to create scores for Sarah Maguire (0-2) and Amy Butler (0-2). Many thanks to Paul McSweeney for his help and the parents for their great vocal support. Overall it was a very entertaining game and the girls performed with great skill and competitiveness to win 0-4 to 0-3. The U-10 Girls' Football team played in Naomh Ólaf on Saturday, 18th May. Our first game was against the girls from Robert Emmets, the former club of big Niall Quinn. The game was well-contested but the Bray girls were a more seasoned, clinical outfit. Great scores came from Eimear Timmons and Chloe Messitt. In the second game, we played the host team, Naomh Olaf. The Sandyford girls were strong. We lost the first-half. However, in the second-half Sarah Lambe, Eirinn Doyle and an energetic Laura Doyle ensured a one point win for Tony's gallant Under-10's. third game saw Bray pitted against the local girls, Naomh Áine.
