Senior football league: Bray Emmets 0-9 St. Pats 2-11

Our senior football team went down to a determined St Pats team last Sunday morning.The sun shone brilliantly but we witnessed a very poor performance from our senior players.Too many players weren't at the races.Hard to remember a time when a Bray Emmets team didn't register a score for an entire half of a game.
St. Pats were first to score on the twelve minute.In fact the Emmets had three or four chances to score but none of the forwards stood up and took responsibility.Giving away possession proved costly when St. Pats capitalised on a poor pass out of defence and sent the ball to the back of the net. With the wind to their backs St. Pats applied extra pressure and Bray gave away some silly frees.The score at half time was Bray Emmets 0-0 St.Pats 1-6--- five of those points coming from frees!!
In the second half we upped our game and took the match to St. Pats.We gradually began to pick off some scores and eat into the Pats lead. Unfortunately Pats scored an opportunistic goal in the final quarter and we ran out of time. Scorers :J.Kinch 0-5, B.Ohannaidh 0-1, J. Walsh 0-1, L.Benson 0-1 T. Denver 0-1.
