Senior Football: Bray Emmets 2-08 - An Tochar 12pts.
Our senior men's football team had a two points victory over An Tochar in the SFL at Old Connaught on Saturday last. Playing against the wind in the first half, the team struggled to get scores and it was fifteen minutes before the Emmet's scored the first point at which stage An Tochar had scored five points.
A goal and a point from Stephen Fox at the end of the first half, left the Emmet's behind by two points at half time, 1-02 to 7pts. The game was a close affair in the second half with An Tochar doing well against the wind. The decisive scores for the Emmet's coming from Rob Ryan (2pts) and a Mikey Browne goal. Oisin OHannaidh made a great goal line clearance in the second half to keep out a certain An Tochar goal chance.
This was a welcome win but improvement will be needed for the
next home game against Carnew in two weeks. Best for the
Emmet's were Paul O Keefe in goal, Oisin OHannaidh, Sean
Quinn and Paul
Barry in the backs, Johnny Kinch and Niall Gaffney in midfield and
in the forwards, John O' Keefe, Mikey Brown, Stephen Fox and Rob
Ryan.
Scorers: Johnny Kinch 4pts, Stephen Fox and Mikey Browne 1-01 each
and Rob Ryan 2points.
