Bray Emmets Senior Ladies Travelled To Statford-On-Slaney On Sunday For The Semi Final Of The Championship Against AGB. Within Minutes Of The Start, Arklow Had The Ball In The Back Of The Net. They Were To Score Another Goal And A Point Before Cathy Goulding Put Us On The Board From A Free. Aine O'Gorman Got Our First Goal And So The Game Began. It Was End To End Football, With Our Full Backs Pamela McDermott, Siobhan Egan And Sheena Smith Holding The Attack From Arklow. Our Full Forwards Aine O'Gorman, Niamh Coleman And Eadoine Lenihan Fought Hard To Break Down The Arklow Defence And With Another Two Frees From Cathy Goulding And A Goal From Aine O'Gorman Bray Went In 1 Point Down At Half Time.
A Change In The Backs With Sarah Longmore Coming In For Pamela McDermot And Alisha Doyle In For Niamh Coleman In The Forwards, Bray Pushed Ahead And Cathy Goulding Gave Us Our First Score (A Goal) Of The Second Half. Arklow Forced Ahead And Our Half Backs Of Ashling Ni Annaidh, Rachel Cunningham, And Lisa Brady Gave It Their All In Order To Hold Arklow At Bay. Arklow Got 2 More Goals And It Was Now 5 Points Between The Sides, When Alisha Doyle Got A Great Goal To Bring It Back To 2. With A Change Of Fresh Legs, Caoimhe Ni Mhurchu For Niamh Ryan And Eileen Henley For Rachel Cunningham, Bray Pushed Ahead And With Great Points From Sinead Boland And Aoife Heffernan, And Outstanding Work From Mikella Shelly And Eadoine Lehihan, Bray Never Gave Up. Arklow Pounded Bray's Goal In The Last Minuets Of The Game But Our Girls Held Firm And Got Their Reward With A Place In The Final.
This Was An Unbelievable Game, And Full Credit To All The Girls, They Never Gave Up.
