Junior B Football V Rathnew
14 April, 2011
Bray Emmets 4-9 Rathnew 1-11
The Junior B football team got their league campaign off to a
great start with a victory over old rivals Rathnew last Thursday
night. Bray goaled four times, with Johny O'Leary, Garreth
Crowley and the evergreen maestro John Walsh causing problems for
the Rahnew defence. Further back Eoin Mahon, Alan Wallace and
Jonathan Scanlon all contributed strongly. The backline held firm
despite an onslaught from the Villagers in the final twenty
minutes. Keith Heillick, Mark Mulvaney and young Enda Molloy
particularly impressed.
The team lined out as follows, Keith Hillick, Enda Molloy, Conor
Spillane, Mark Mulvaney, Alan Wallace, Alan Corr, Gavin Cahill,
Jonathan Scanlon, Eoin Mahon, Shane O'Sullivan, Gar Crowley, Ross
Murphy, Johny O' Leary, John Walsh and Sean Liddy, James Talbot,
Mal Doyle, Noel Keane, Niall McManus, Kieran Doyle and Stephen
Carton.
The experienced Paddy Moynihan has joined the Junior team this year
and combined with the wisdom of Ian Smith and the former great
Adrian Flannery, the management team can be very happy how the team
performed on their first outing.
The next game is Thursday 21st, away to St Pats , throw in at
7.15.
There is training every Tuesday evening for the Junior panel a
7.00pm in Old Conna and every one is welcome.
We would like to express our deepest sympathy to Stephen and Gerry
Ebbs and their family and friends for the recent passing of their
father Jimmy Ebbs.
May he rest in peace.
