Junior A V Blessington
15 July, 2011
BRAY EMMETS 3.05 - BLESSINGTON 13PTS.
Our second game in the Junior A Championship, which was played Friday 15th July in Roundwood, proved that old cliquey 'goals win games'. Blessington played with the wind in the first half and built up a 7pts to 2 lead before Bray had their best spell in the last ten minutes of the half which resulted in Mikey Browne scoring a goal and a point. At half time Blessington led by 8pts to 1.02. Bray made a poor start to the second half and were behind by 11pts to 1.02 when Eoin Mc Mahon put them back in the game when he converted a penalty. Points by Daire Lohan and Declan Snow closed the gap to the minimum. Bray took the lead when Declan Snow scored a fine goal. Blessington scored a point and in the last five minutes had a chance to equalise but the Bray defence held out for a one point victory. Credit to both sets of players for the open football that they served up on a wet and windy evening. Team: Stephen Carton, Eoin O Dea, Ed. Keating, Alan Corr, Liam Mc Graynor , Niall Mc Cague, Enda Molloy, Des Kelly (2pts), Eoin Mc Mahon, (1gl), Declan Snow(1.01), Ray Lamb, Daire Lohan,(1pt), Mikey Browne, (1.01), David Sullivan, Daniel Molloy, Maurice Doyle, Tadgh Dornan, John Walsh.
