Bray Emmets 1-13 Coolboy 1-5
In contrast to the Blessington game the Bray lads got off to a great start and never really looked like being caught by Coolboy.
A marked improvement in the use of possession led Bray to some early scores, which set them up for an impressive win over a hardworking Coolboy side. Going in with a deserved lead of 0-8 to 0-5 at the break, Bray had impressive performers in Liam McGraynor at centre field partnered by the industrious Jonathon Scanlon along with the attack minded half back duo of Conor Power and Ciaran Doyle. Conor Flannery with three points had swept Bray into the lead and their tally was added to by well taken points by Niall McCague with further scores coming from Des Kelly, Conor Power and Liam McGraynor.
Coolboy made much of the second half running but were unable to make it count on the score board mainly due to a well marshalled defence led by full back Geoff Morrissey. Bray on the other hand continued to keep the scoreboard ticking away thanks to points from John Walsh and Flannery. However, the last five minutes caused alarm bells to ring for the home team when Coolboy converted a penalty. But an excellent point by the influential Liam McGraynor and a late late goal by young Conor Waddell quickly put to bed any aspirations the men from Coolboy had of a dramatic comeback.
