Bray Emmet's 1-05 vs. An Tochar 0-08.
Our Intermediate footballers travelled to An Tochar on Tuesday 24th March to take on the home side in Div 3 of the football league. Both teams had won their first games, so they will be happy to still remain unbeaten. On a dreadful night for football, both teams must take credit for providing a close entertaining game, played in a great spirit.
The Emmet's played against the wind in the first half and led at half time by 1pt, 1.02 to 4pts. The goal came from a Conor Flannery penalty. Both sides missed chances in that half and the second half was of a similar nature. An Tochar did up their game in the second half and played good possession football against the wind. It was very close right up to the final seconds, when we had a chance to win the game, but we couldn't finish off the move. The game was well refereed by John O Brien.
Best for the Emmet's, Barry Lyndsey , Eoin Wogan, Sean O Neill, Des Kelly,(1) Conor Flannery, (1.02), John Walsh. Other scorers include Jamie Queiney and Geroid O Murchu (1pt). Thanks to all the players for their commitment and we require the same again for our next game which is next Saturday 4th April at 4pm, away to St. Patrick's of Wicklow town.
