Bray Emmets 4-09 Knockannana 1-09
Bray pulled off another great win in the Intermediate football championship against Knockananna in Arklow on Sunday. They are now joint second in their group with Ballymanus just behind Annacurra. Leading from start to finish Emmets used their special blend of youth, experience and determination to hold off a spirited Knockananna side. Two goals from Ross McAnaspie helped their cause no end and was backed up by some exquisite freetaking from Jamie Quiney. Although they were missing the stalwart John Walsh after playing for the seniors the previous day, Bray were led by Sean O Neill who went about his work with the flair and steely determination we have become accustomed to. Des Kelly provided another classy performance while Paul Cunningham is setting down a marker as a star of the future. Bray look forward to their final match with Annacurra on the 12th September in a hugely important fixture that could guarantee them a semi final spot.
