Senior Football : Bray Emmets 7pts - Newtown
9pts.
There was a disappointing result for our seniors footballers when
they lost by two points to Newtown in Old Connaught last Saturday
26.4. The disappointment was in the result rather than the
display because the performance of the team in the second half
deserved at the very least a draw. While the team created
many scoring opportunities, their failure to take those scores,
cost them the game. Newtown started very well and led by five
points to two after twenty minutes. For the final ten minutes of
the half the Emmet's came more into the game and the half time
score was 6pts to 4pts in favour of Newtown. The Emmet's could not
reduce that two point margin during the second half despite having
plenty of opportunities to do so.
Best for the Emmet's were Rory Breslin, Oisin O Hannaidh, Ronan
O Brien, Paul Barry, Sean Quinn, Brian O' Keefe, Ray Lamb and John
Walsh.
Scorers: Johnny Kinch 3pts, Brian O'Keefe 2pts, Stephen
Fox and R. Lamb 1pt each.
The results to date: Played 6-W2-L2-D2. The next league match is
away to Blessington.
