Bray Emmets v Eire Og Greystones

After winning the toss last week to win home venue against our neighbours and the fact that Eire og were missing a lot of first team players was the result in us strolling to a fairly comprehensive victory, on a score line of 4.18 to 1.7.

None the less we struck back after the defeat to Carnew in the opening game last week. We welcomed back Arran Murphy after a well- earned rest and he looked very sharp and mobile around the centre of the field area, delivering some lovely ball to the corners and adding to long range points for good measure.

Cian O’Byrne was also back and contributed 1.4 at corner forward, showing some great awareness, Paddy Lee another man back having not played last year looked eager to make an impression, scoring the first goal when the opportunity presented itself. Christy Moorehouse got the better of Billy Cuddihy and picked off some lovely points, Diarmuid Masterson the same at centre field looked lively, Lukie Maloney is worth a mention, his dominance at centre back and delivery to the forwards was first class.

At half time we lead 1.10 to 1.4 and still had work to do. Ben McCormack was introduced at the break for Philip Collins. We completely took over the second half, putting the Eire Og defence under severe pressure and goals from Ciano, Mikey Lee and Eoin McCormack put this one to bed. With two Hendersons, Mark Lennon, Paulie Cunningham and Padge Doyle all rested we look to be back on track.
